Ranged disarm with an improvised... "weapon"?

Rules Questions

Is there some way for a character to be able to disarm/steal an enemy's weapon at range (up to 10-20 ft.), using something like a string or ribbon (or whatever), and bring the weapon to yourself?

You could use a whip out to 15' and apply Greater Disarm and its combat trick:

When you successfully disarm a foe, you can spend 5 stamina points to select where the weapon lands by choosing a square within 15 feet of the disarmed foe. If you choose a square in your space and have at least one hand free, you can grab the weapon as part of the disarm attempt.

What if you don't have a whip? Is there some way to use something else as a whip?

There's the Pilfering Hand spell, a force effect, for ranged disarm. I know of no 'improvised weapon' that would allow a ranged disarm.

A grappling hook on a rope would certainly be a ranged improvised weapon that could be thrown and pulled back. You could certainly attempt a disarm maneuver with it. Allowing it to catch the weapon would be purely gm caveat.

Yes, if you have the Equipment Trick(Rope) feat and you're proficient with whips:

You can use a length of rope as a whip at no penalty. The piece of rope that is used as a whip must be 10 feet long—length in excess of this must remain coiled or otherwise unused at your feet or side.

Rope tricks can be performed with hemp rope or silk rope, or with similar ropelike items at the GM’s discretion.

A really heavy ribbon might work. Or a length of chain.

That should work wonderfully. Thank you.

Cool. Just remember that the "bring it back to you" trick costs 5 stamina points, so you can't spam it.

There is also a swpell. Silk to Steel that transforms something into a whip temproarily.
Also

there is a rogue talent that lets you pick up and put away an item as a swift action.
Soo you could use greater disarm to disarm them, land it in your square and pick it up.
