succubus suggestion

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

So the spell suggestion says obviously harmful suggestions don't work. Does that mean a succubus using her suggestion and saying "you want to kiss me" wouldn't work? After all, anyone who knows how succubi work would know doing so was dangerous.

does he know she's a succubi?
they CAN change their shapes.
not only that you'd need some knowledge check to know she's one or that she can drain energy. the fact a player can gloss over the gm's monster manual books doesn't make it character's knowledge.
make the roll and you might get to consider that as obviously harmful. then again.. a she doesn't HAVE to drain energy so why wouldn't you believe her? because she can damage you with a hug ? -so can a monk\brawler .don't see suggestions to hug them as obviously harmful.

Shadow Lodge

I would agree that it would be conditional on identifying the monster and their abilities since such abilities are not obvious.

As an aside, that suggestion wouldn't do what you want it to. Suggestions need careful wording. Saying "you want to kiss me" would just implant a desire with nothing making the target need to act upon it.

How would you phrase the suggestion then? I always thought suggestion was kind of like the "Jedi mind trick" where you say "you want to do X" or the like.
