Inscribe magical tattoo

Rules Questions

Another player in my campaign had stated that inscribe magical tattoos are a one time use, my rogue and I disagreed, and can’t seem to find any particular rule on this

They are permanent items and have a number of rules regarding how to remove them. Several of them work once per day as well. The "spell tattoo" tattoo is a one use item, but it says so specifically and I believe its the only one.

Our oracle said all tattoos are one time use such as “spell tattoo”

Your oracle is wrong. Only spell tattoo states it vanishes on use in the description. It is the exception, not the norm.

Quote:
A spell tattoo is essentially a wearable scroll inscribed on flesh instead of on parchment or vellum. These tattoos appear as colorful and intricate patterns rather than magical writing. The tattoo is a silent, spell completion item that only the bearer can activate. It vanishes when activated. A spell tattoo must be visible to the bearer and must be touched as part of its activation. These magical tattoos are not normally placed on the head, neck, or back as a result, since most creatures would require mirrors to activate them. A spell tattoo’s aura and caster level varies as per the scroll it emulates. A spell tattoo has a market price four times as much as an equivalent scroll.

caster’s tattoo wrote:
When she casts the spell, the caster’s tattoo flares with light for a moment, then grows faint and faded—it replenishes its energy in 24 hours, after which it becomes bold and colorful and can be used again.

that would be a lot of silly irrelevant language in Caster’s Tattoo if it went away after first use.

Inscribe magic tattoos is just a way to double up on some slots ar the cost of non slotted items.

Which is to say, have the benefits of 2 things you want but the cost of the second is extremely high. I would take traits to lower it.

But of you really want 2 "cloaks" and can not choose, you dont have to

In our group we did limit the tattoo slots to at least make sense. No headband slots on feet etc.. it rarely came up as conflict and we had a tattoo sorceress with the feat as the main caster.

Your oracle is incorrect.

In this post I listed a lot of tattoo options. Some one shot, some constant, come daily use.

One use for the slotless tattoo doubling up is for the Ring slot. You need Forge Ring to make a ring and Craft Wondrous to make a wrist slot item, but Inscribe Tattoo does both slots. If you want a cheap 3rd and 4th ring, the Inscribe Tattoo can make it easy, whereas making a slotless ring costs the same as needs the Forge Ring feat. You can do this at 5th level with a tattoo, but the ring is at 7th level.
