PaizoCon 2019 Event Lottery is live

So, as far as I can tell, this seems to be a secret this year. According to the event catalog, the event lottery signup for 4-day pass holders for this year has been live since 12:00 PST today. I've already put in some requests and it has registered them as entered.

I don't know about anyone else, but I never received an email about this and the deadline to enter is 11:00AM PST on Thursday, May 2, so if you didn't know, you might want to jump on this...

The special is also a lottery event this year apparently...

Paizo has *got* to give a weekend for sign-ups AFTER an email goes out or it will be a rerun of 20..12? when the lottery time was completely reset since most folks didn't know it was open.

In years past I would need to purchase a ticket to attend even though I was volunteering enough to get in for free; I had to do this if I wanted to purchase a banquet ticket (you could not purchase one with out the other). At a later date the badge purchase price was credited to my account. To participate in the lotto you may need to do so as well.

Back in my day if you volunteered enough to get a free badge, you were not able to participate in the lotto. I am happy to see this is no longer the case.

I clicked on my preference for an event, but after refreshing it doesn't show that I selected it. How do I know that my lottery selection was actually submitted correctly?

It usually took a couple of seconds for the screen to update for me. No reload required.

Hm. I tried again just now; after I click the "4", it sits for a few seconds then tells me "Refresh page to view updated schedule", but the "4" is never highlighted in any way to indicate my selection worked, even after I refresh the page.

Each event involved in the lottery should have
"Your preference
[some large number]
[0][1][2][3][4]
"
After clicking one of the 0-4 boxes and waiting a few seconds the [some large number] should update showing what your current recording preference is.

Yep, that's what isn't happening. I'll try from home tonight to see if it is my setup here that is the problem.

I believe we had the email go out over the weekend. We had a number of questions about when the events would be uploaded on the site and getting the lottery started. I wanted to be sure the events were uploaded and the lottery was active and working before we sent the email out. With the lottery, there's no advantage or disadvantage for when you make the preference selections during the window for lottery preferences.

This information is probably somewhere, but I couldn't find it...

When does the next stage transition (i.e. when does the lottery happens)? And is there a "you have X days to lock in your lottery events?" (something like gencon's 2 hour window from lottery to cart - or is that not a thing for PaizoCon?)

The 'Important Dates' sidebar on the Event list is what you are looking for.

Also, once the lottery is run, the events you get are just added to your schedule. You don’t have to do anything to accept them.
