I've played Melee , Range , and Gish Style Character but Never a Full on Mage and I am considering playing one for The next game I am in.
I want to be a good Blaster Type but have some versatility to it.
The Game will Start at level 7 and I am unsure of what class
See I know Sorcerer with the Dragon/Orc Blood line can be A good Damage Dealer
But I want some Versatility to it. Both in Damage and the ability to be More than a DPR Machine

Limited casting slots make it hard to be a full-on damage dealer as a mage - honestly, it sounds like Kineticist is the closest thing. Get a few useful utility wild talents and you can do both energy blasts and out-of-combat stuff.
That said, Sorcerer is a pretty solid choice. Since your spells are spontaneous, you don't have to worry about picking the exact right set of spells each day, and that's handy. Remember that as a full caster, it's very easy to get utility spells alongside your damage.
Remember:
> Creativity goes a long ways.
> You should have at least two elements to attack with in case enemies are immune to one.
> Dexterity is your friend, as much so as your primary casting stat. Go faster in initiative, dodge more attacks, and hit more often with your ranged touch attacks.
> Online guides are very good for helping with utility spell selection. 1-2 damage spells per spell level should be fine.

So the first thing to figure out about a kineticist is "what element do you want" (it's the first choice). Earth, Aether, Air, and Water are all good choices. Earth and Aether are more defensive (and Aether has some really fun utility options), whereas Air and Water have access to highly accurate energy blasts. It's possible that the premise of the campaign will make one element stand out relative to others. Fire is generally not a great choice since there are so many fire immune monsters.
A kineticist's best stats should be dex and con, with dex being more important for physical blasts. Feats worth considering are toughness, iron will, weapon focus (kinetic blast), weapon finesse (for kinetic blade/whip users).
