Words of Power

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

I've been delving into the Words of Power system and Have been finding very few feats that seem to be able to be used with this system. I know that I might be missing some obvious information but can the metamagic feats be used with Words of power, therefore effectively increasing the spells level? Or are the Words of power stuck with only the additions meant for the Words of Power? Any information and guidance would be greatly appreciated regarding this topic, thank you.

Yes, metamagic can be used with words of power. A word spell is still a spell and interacts with all other rules accordingly.

Liberty's Edge

"Metamagic feats, such as Empower Spell and Quicken Spell, work on wordspells just like they would on ordinary spells. The increase to the spell’s level means that the spell uses up a higher-level spell slot, but retains the word arrangement of the affected spell. For example, a 3rd-level wordspell modified by the Empower Spell feat would use up a 5th-level spell slot, but could not contain words with a level higher than 3rd."

I was hoping that would be the consensus but I wanted to make certain. Thank you all.
