You all have given my great advice, thank you for all your help.
I know that this sounds silly but I was just curious about this combination. And even if this is an option what are your opinions? If the Barbarian enters into a stance prior to raging, do they remain in that stance? I don't see anything that says that they cant. Also, if they have moment of clarity, they could potentially enter a rage, use moment of clarity and enter their stance? I would just like to know any of your thoughts about this if possible. Thanks.

Your right there too Graystone. I agree that the Curve blade is a great weapon for an agile character but then again and a lot of people might think this is dumb (OH well) but I'm not looking for the best weapon, or damage, looking more for a story and using a two handed weapon just doesn't fit my idea for the character. I guess I'm the type of person who takes an ability flaw and get nothing out of it except to fit my character concept. Thanks for your opinion, it's valued! :)
Besides saying that it's a better quality metal, does it do anything for the armor or the weapon in question? The price difference between the two is crazy I don't see a benefit. Does anyone have the time to explain this to me? I know I'm missing something but any help would be appreciated, thanks

I agree but I was doing this more for the story and flavor of everything/background of the character. The temple sword would even give me a trip if I wanted so it's a better weapon choice but not what I was looking for :) Thanks
I'm sorry, I guess my response seemed as if I thought that only the elven curve blade was the only weapon this applied to. What I meant was that the only elf weapon that the feat applied to was the elven curve blade. I was aware that the feat still applied to the other races such as the orc knuckle dagger and such. I guess my point was for a feat to only affect only one weapon that a race uses seems very weak in general but I guess it was never meant to be very good. Thank you for trying to help me though.
::Sigh:: I figured that would be the obvious response as the long sword although being trained is not considered an elf weapon. With that being said, if the weapon does not have the term "elf" listed in the weapon it would seem that it still would not qualify as the rapier is agile, is a weapon that elves are trained in if they take the ancestry weapon feat and yet still does not scale. So this feat would really only apply to the Elven Curve blade which I think is silly. I know that the GM could just say that it does but, Idk, just seems like a pretty worthless feat for elves, or orcs, or any other race that can take an ancestral weapon. Regardless, thank you for helping, I appreciate it. :)
If an elven character has ancestral weapons feat, choses to be a monk and then choses the ancestral and monastic weapons feat for the monk, shouldn't those elven weapons such as the long sword become expert along with all monk weapons at fifth level when their unarmed strikes become expert or am I missing something? Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated, thanks :)

OK, here are the requirements and the exact wording of the feat in question.
Combat Feat
Requirements: Dex 13, Weapon finesse, Dodge, base attack +5
Feat wording: When fighting with a slashing light weapon or a rapier, any attack made by a single enemy that you have designated provokes an Attack of Opportunity from you. This special attack of opportunity is called a counter-attack. You may not counter-attack your opponents counter-attack. Any counter-attack uses up one of your attacks of opportunities for that round.
And there you have it. But I have to agree with you Nyerkh, the feat does sound over powered for what is required for the feat as a whole.
Sorry about that AVR, I was unaware that the feat was a not a normal feat as I have access to Hero Labs with preloaded books and modules. The feat comes from the Sword Coast Module/Campaign book. I couldn't find any other material on the feat either so I understand if a good answer or opinion can't be given. Sorry for the problems everyone. Thanks

Alright, here goes another question regarding attacks. This feat allows for an individual to counter attack any time they are attacked by someone that they have designated as their opponent. This all seems pretty straight forward and I think that it applies to all attacks except for a counter attack made by the said individual. Under this situation, what happens if someone with this feat who happens to have spring attack, moves into melee range of their designated opponent, attacks, and then proceeds to move out of their melee range? I think in this situation that the designated opponent would get an Attack of Opportunity against the individual. Would the person moving out of melee range also at that point get their counter-attack just prior of moving out of melee range? That's the question that I have? This of course is assuming that the individual have initiative and is attacking first in the round before his designated opponent can act. Any and all viewpoints will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I know I might be missing this somewhere but I have a question regarding the spells that require a Divine Focus such as spells like sanctuary, prayer, and bless. With Oracles, the individual may not even know where their powers or spells come from, they might just have them. Heck, the patron that gives the individual their power might even be directly opposite of them in personality. My question is, if a Chaotic Good Oracle has the Hellbound curse, and receives their powers from lets say Asmodaeus (As unlikely as this may be nothing prevents this from being an option) then what kind of Divine Focus is this Chaotic Good Oracle going to use to cast Bless, Prayer, or Sanctuary or is it that they are barred from using these types of spells? I know they have access to them but it does propose a little problem. What does everyone else think and what are your opinions and suggestions. Any help you can give me would be great, thanks.

I've been delving into the Words of Power system and Have been finding very few feats that seem to be able to be used with this system. I know that I might be missing some obvious information but can the metamagic feats be used with Words of power, therefore effectively increasing the spells level? Or are the Words of power stuck with only the additions meant for the Words of Power? Any information and guidance would be greatly appreciated regarding this topic, thank you.

In the Hellbound curse the oracle is denied the use of spells that are both good and chaotic but has no restrictions on the alignment of the oracle themselves. Does anyone have a problem with the player choosing to play such an oracle and being Chaotic? With that being said, as unlikely as it may be, what would prevent a player who is Chaotic Good from playing a character who has the hellbound curse as an Oracle? I can thing of a few instances in which a good player might become hellbound but then wouldn't be good. Any and all opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone could give me some guidance on a particular character that I am building and I'm not too sure that I understand how this healing thing works. I don't want to break the rules but I am looking at trying to be the best healer that a healer can be. :)
Anyway, I'm looking at creating an Aasimar Oracle of Life who has The traits "Rescued (Koya)" which states that it gives a +2 trait bonus on cure spells and "Blessed touch" which allows me to heal one additional point of damage. The Blessed touch seems pretty straight forward but does the Rescued trait heal damage as well? If not, what does the +2 trait bonus add too? So, I was wondering, If casting cure light wounds would the over all modifiers be 1d8+1 for the spell, +1 from the Blessed Touch making it 1d8+2? Or is it 1d8+3 with Blessed Touch and the Rescued trait? Also, can the additional modifiers increase the spell beyond the 1d8+5 cap limit of the spell? Any and all comments are welcome, thank you for your help. Thank you

I agree with a lot of your remarks but there are a couple of reasons that poison is an option. Although your right that unless the user has the poison use class feature, feat, or ability they do risk being poisoned by their own poison, the risk is only 5%. The idea about apply the poison is also valid but there are ways around that, such as feats, abilities, and a sponge scabbard that allows for poison to be applied while the blade is drawn. The other reason that poison is used is for non-lethal reasons to incapacitate the npc. These reasons might help with why poison would be used by a player but your still right that it’s still not a great use item.

This may seem like a silly question but using this feat seems like you can add just about any combination of spells in a healing potion as long as the combined spell level totals don't exceed level 3. With that being said, could a player create a potion of cure moderate wounds and then add cure light wounds in the same potion? Using this particular situation with a fifth level caster, he would essentially have a 1d8+5 and a 2d8+5 healing potion. I could be wrong as I am still learning but would like to know what everyone thinks. Also, if the caster were an Oracle of life with enhanced cures, would this also translate into the healing potion? Therefore, would an Oracle of life that was 9th level be able to create the same potion mentioned above with a result of a 1d8+9 cure light wounds spell and a 2d8+9 cure moderate wounds spell in the same potion using this feat. Any and all opinions would be greatly appreciated. Especially if this exercise seems like a complete waste of time. Thanks

Thanks everyone, I appreciate all of your input and feel much better in my general knowledge of this particular problem. Although I no longer see it as being a problem. I agree that based upon how young the character becomes whether or not changing the character to size small and reducing the physical stats but keeping the mental stats as is (Just never seemed right that they would lose their mental skills and abilities due to becoming younger). I guess it's possible that this has already been answered but I haven't found it and would like opinions of everyone else. If a 19 y/o human character were to drink a potion and the potion then reduced his age by five years, according to the rules he no longer qualifies for many stats, skills, abilities of his former self. I can see how strength, and Con are all affected but would he really lose his abilities? A 14 y/o rogue isn't much different from a 15 y/o rogue. What if he became a 12 y/o human? I know what the rules are for young characters but I'm pretty sure they were written for starting characters not for characters that revert to a younger age after attaining their class abilities. At what point does it change his class if at all? Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi everyone, just looking for some guidance on a character concept that a friend is asking me about. The individual is looking at creating an oracle of life that channels positive energy and therefore heals with their channel and then after a couple of levels switches to a cleric of Asmodeus. I already explained that it's more than likely not going to be very efficient as a character concept and that a really good backstory as to why this change is taking place is even happening but they are sold on the idea. The question that I have is that they think that because they are going to switch to a priest of Asmodeus that they will automatically get channel negative energy, which in the hero lab program does seem to work. This will ultimately give the character the ability to channel both positive and negative energy. Does anyone have any comments, ideas, or opinions on this concept? Thanks
