Rulebook updates

General Discussion

Will there be updated printed rulebooks or PDF´s in the near future?

There will absolutely be a re-printing of the books at a time later than now, before the year 2025, maybe. I'm 100% sure that there's at least a 20% chance of this happening.

Speculation. It works 50% of the time every time!

I think I remember In one of the twitch streams they said that rewriting the CRB takes away from the time that they can work on new content. As a value proposition for them, it doesn't make too much sense yet to release an updated CRB yet, as most retailers are still packed with the current one, and they have a pretty tight content schedule to meet, with 2 scenarios, 1 AP a month, in addition to the beginner box, hardbacks, and maps. Not to mention many of their staff are also working on PF2.

But never say never, just don't expect it any time soon.

Facts: There are no facts indicating anything like that is coming.

Conjecture: Given that we haven't even seen any updates to the FAQ in a year, and if you assume that the stuff in the FAQ is what you'd want to revise in the updates, I suspect it's unlikely.

You'd think they update things once/if they need a new printing. The Pathfinder CRB went through six printings in about ten years, and each had errata.

The starship combat dcs being wrong/being in different places really hurt starship combat.

The other issues are easily covered by errata - but the DCs for Starship combat are completely wrong. Would be really nice for people buying the core rulebook to have them right and for us to have them inherent. I'd take an update to just the online SFRD - because it annoys my OCD that all the errors and typos just got copied verbatim.

And I understand the logistics of printing a new version, but it needs to be updated eventually.
