Which feat to get for a 11th level Knife Master / Scout Rogue Archetype, Mythic tier 3


Advice


My Character just got to level 11, and I can' t seem to decide WHICH feat to grab for this level... (PDF here). He is a Dagger user (for the d8 sneak attacks) and uses two-weapon fighting, but not very often... (hence why I am not inclined to take the Improved Two-Weapon Fighting feat)

His current feats are:
Dodge
Extra Mythic Power
Great Fortitude
Iron Will
Mobility
Spring Attack
Two-Weapon Fighting
Weapon Finesse
Weapon Finesse (M)
Wpn Focus: Dagger

Any advice? We are allowed ONLY feats from PAIZO sources, but not 3rd party PDFs...

Seems like Canny Tumble and Circling Mongoose would be appropiate for your build.

Improved critical is a good choice. Crits help make up the damage loss when you’re not getting SA and it’s gravy when you get a crit and SA.


I can't see your character sheet, but...

Deific Obedience with Pharasma for, "+2 profane or sacred bonus on attack rolls made with daggers"

If you don't already have these traits then the additional traits feat for:
River Rat for "+1 trait bonus on damage rolls with a dagger"
Opportunistic for "+1 trait bonus on attacks of opportunity with a dagger"
or one of these and one of the other goods ones (e.g. +2 to initiative, +1 to a save, etc.)


It's a shame you're locked into daggers with weapon focus as getting Improved Critical (or keen) on a pair of kukris could potentially turn you into a living blender. Is your group open to teamwork feats? As Outflank or Paired Opportunist are good if people work together. I'm guessing (M) means mythic so does that mean you're not using the unchained rogue then?

Artemis got a very powerful Dagger (+4 adamentium), hence why he's specialized in daggers...

Bonuses on Daggers attacks would be... excellent!!!! Makes sure my sneak attacks HITS, so that the juicy damage can be applied ;) Thx!!! Question is... Can I take a couple of Traits instead of a feat!? I was under the impression that traits were acquired at character creations...

Yeah I'm kinda locked into daggers... and indeed, (M) is for the Mythic version of the feat in TOS+ :)

Normally you can’t sneak attack on your first attack using the Circling Mongoose feat, but if you make the Acrobatics check you can sneak attack on your first attack because Canny Tumble deny the target it’s dex bonus (if any).

To use this combo effectively find a way to ignore difficult terrain and get more movement. 30 ft movement limit your attacks to max 6 Per round (possible with sneak attack on all of them).

At high levels Sneaking Precision is cool. The penalties from exhausting critical or staggering critical will make it easier to land iterative attacks and protect you from a retribution full attack if the target survives.

hmm that seems incorrect as per the feat text - you actually sneak attack only on the second attack, provided the first attack hit:

If your first attack against the foe hits, you are considered to be flanking the foe on your second attack

Seems to mean that you don't flank on attack #1...

Agreed you don’t flank on your first attack, but your target is denied dex bonus because of Canny tumble to all attacks after a successful Acrobatics check.

Im uncertain if you need to make a Acrobatics check before each attack using Circling Mongoose or just one check for the entire full action. If it is the later then the target only loses its dex bonus on the first attack.


Dip a level in Arcanist and take the Dimensional Slide Arcane Exploit. That will give you a 10' Teleport that does not disorient you, and can be done as part of your Move. That should help you attain Flanking and help you unlock Sneak Attacks. Also, your character seems to like moving around a lot on the Battlefield. A little teleport-hopping seems just what the Doctor ordered.

With that level, you can also use Sorcerer and Wizard Wands. Get Improved Invisibilty, so you can fight while Invisible. While Invisible, you opponents don't get their Dex Mod to AC, and you get your SAD.


Since you already have all the prerequisites for both, I second the notion that Canny Tumble and Circling Mongoose should be highly considered.


Indeed, canny tumble is quite good!!
I'll take note of that for my next feat: for now, I'll go with Flensing Strike, which is... well, just wow!

Well you are Mythic already - but check Flensing Strike with your GM. It is a monster feat like multiattack. Many GM’s will not allow it.
