Bonus Combat Feats

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

From d20pfsrd.com: Brawlers, fighters, gunslingers, magi, swashbucklers, and warpriests can select combat feats as bonus feats. Members of other classes can take combat feats provided that they meet the prerequisites.

Does this mean these classes don't have to meet the prerequisites for combat feats? Have I been doing this wrong since I began playing PF?

No they still need to meet prerequisites. The only time you do not need to meet prerequisites is if it says so in the ability giving you the feat, like Monk bonus feats or Ranger combat styles.

Ok, thanks. I was growing more and more confused by the moment...lol.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

People selecting feats with normal feat slots must always meet the prerequisites.

People selecting feats with bonus feat class features may sometimes ignore prerequisites, the class feature itself will say when.

So that's why we specify the former (because it is always the case) but not the latter (because it varies).

Thanks. I guess that's where I was getting my wires crossed.
