Rogue Sidestep Feat

Skills, Feats, Equipment & Spells

So, as written at 8th level you can have one attack that misses you each round turn back on the attacker? I don't think that was the intend, but considering how poorly this book is written, Who knows?

Rogues do not have the damage output of other martials, so it seems fine to me. However, while as written the feat definitely allows you to turn the attack back on the attacker, it seems like as intended it was meant to allow you to turn the attack on anyone other than the attacker who is also in range.

I agree that the feat could use some clarification and, personally, I don't think Stepside is the best name.

Quote:

Sidestep Feat 8

Trigger: The attack roll for a Strike targeting you fails or critically fails.

You redirect the attack to a creature of your choice that is adjacent to you and within the reach of the triggering attack.

The attacker rerolls the Strike’s attack roll at the same multiple attack penalty against the new target.

Deflect Strike or Misdirection would be a more clear name. I'd prefer if Sidestep were a Reaction that granted a Step when an enemy ended a stride beside them - I think this could add a lot of tactical fun.
