Selling Magic Items from loot

Rules Questions

Hi,

Sorry for the n-th same question, but I'm having some problems pricing a Longsword Flaming +2 we got for looting a die-hard-bastard lair.

I should add the weapon cost itself (say 18 gp) + Masterwork (300 GP) and the enhancement bonus of +3 (+1 for Flaming and +2 as bonus) OR only the enhancement bonus part?

So it's 18.318*50% or 18.000*50% gp?

Best regards.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

The whole thing, 18,318 gp/2 so the typical sale price is 9,159 gp.

Thanks for the response.

Is there any rule or section where I can check that info?

Well the core book, likely.

Basically you had it right, it's the total value of the weapon. It's still a longsword. And it's still a masterwork weapon if something was to erase that enchantment. So it's still got a value of 318 no matter what.

So yes, add that 318*.5 in gp.

Top of my head? In the equipment/magic items section of the core rulebook, I don't think it's spelled out in a single sentence though, more this is the cost of a longsword here, the cost of making masterwork there, the price of magic weapons over yonder, and sell prices of item somewhere else entirely.

for an exact location you can use search and a key phrase and it should be in the CRB.

I'd agree the default is sell at half but many GMs should ask what applicable skills you have and what NPC contacts do you have to sell magical items? It is a more detailed implementation.
