Banner of ancient kings on polearms

Rules Questions

Is there aby way to mount the banner on any polearm or at least other polearms than longspear?

Longspear is the only thing called out by name, but presumably anything with an 8 foot pole counts as being an 8 foot pole. A GM could rule either way.

The really interesting thing about that banner is that only some of the bonuses require wielding it in two hands - you merely have to carry the banner to gain the Inspire Courage and Flagbearer bonuses. I've seen an Evangelist Cleric with Flagbearer and Inspire Courage carry the banner in one hand with a light shield, and then Quick Draw a sword for some uber-buffed combat.

Silver Crusade

I've also wondered about this in the banner feature of cavalier and samurai. I assume that these are somehow attached to weapons or armor and do not require a hand to function.

For contrast, the Banner of the Scarlet Rose specifies that it must be held in a hand to be used.

There should be a propper sashimono in equipment for this.

Unfortunately the sashimono seems only to exist as special magic item or as feature on some specific magic armors

well while the magic item information say it: "can fit over a spear haft or pole"
the item is said to be a banner which state: "You tie it to a pole, lance, or polearm". it won't be a stretch to allow it to be used with them as well, as the dev probably just didn't bother mentioning every kind of items you can tie a banner to. (like any other magic item, weapons armor etc, you need to look at the basic item for more detail)

I mean, a polearm's defining feature is, well, the pole.
