Pure alchemist or one level gunslinger

Advice

Currently building Xbow alchemist Npcs for my campaign and thinking what would be better:
A) Amateur Gunslinger feat with the bolt ace deed to attack Touch AC
B) one level dip Gunslinger (Bolt Ace)

Opinions? Habe you tried such one shot builds with Vital Strike or other things?

You'd need the Bolt Ace's "Sharp Shoot" to target touch AC with a crossbow, and I'm not sure that Amateur Gunslinger allows you to pick deeds from archetypes.

So I'd go with option B.

If these alchemists are low-lv, you might consider dipping into Unarmed Fighter instead of Gunslinger (Int and Wis-based classes, not so great synergy).

This would allow you to take Overwatch Style without meeting the prerequisites. A normal (non-human) alchemist would have to wait until level 5 before they'd be able to make two crossbow attacks per round, while Overwatch style allows them to make two attacks from level 1.
Also, you could just take EWP: Orc Hornbow instead of Rapid Reload at level 1.

Hornbows cant attack with ranged touch... i'd like to combine it with explosive missile.

Oh, I see. You might consider the Concentrated Fire feat, then.
It's a teamwork feat that allows you and an ally to effectively roll twice on your readied ranged attacks. (available to elves and half-elves)

I used it recently on a ranged vital Strike build, when you really want your one attack to hit.

Something I had originally planned on doing with my alchemist was a 1 level dip and use a pistol with explosive missile. Only 20ft range but that's usually where I ended up anyway with targets.

Grenadier archetype for the ability to also put an alchemist fire on the bullet, targeted bomb admixture extract for 1d6 piercing damage, 1d6+int mod fire damage, and bomb damage+2x int.

I would go with the single dip in gunslinger, personally.
