Hand of the Acolyte Blessing with Weapon Finesse

Rules Questions

Can I combine the feat Weapon Finesse and Hand of the Acolyte blessing from a Warpriest to have my rapier fly out of my hands and use my dexterity modifier and wisdom modifier?

I don't think that works, because Weapon Finesse expressly says that it replaces your strength modifier on attack rolls.

Quote:
Hand of the Acolyte (Su): You can cause your melee weapon to fly from your grasp and strike a foe before instantly returning. As a standard action, you can make a single attack using a melee weapon at a range of 30 feet. This attack is treated as a ranged attack with a thrown weapon, except that you add your Wisdom modifier to the attack roll instead of your Dexterity modifier (damage still relies on Strength). This ability cannot be used to perform a combat maneuver. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Wisdom modifier.

How does this not count as an attack? Also as an unchained rogue, I'd have finesse training so I get my dexterity modifier instead of strength on damage rolls with my specific finesse weapon.

It uses your wisdom modifier in place of your dex modifier for attack rolls only, you still use your normal damage stat.

It's treated as a ranged attack by its own wording, which would disqualify it for Finesse Training which requires:

Whenever she makes a successful melee attack with the selected weapon, she adds her Dexterity modifier instead of her Strength modifier to the damage roll.

So Hand of the Acolyte would replace the Dex from making a ranged attack with your Wis, and would use Str for damage as stated in its own ability description.
