Timing for "targeted by" reactions

How does the timing for "targeted by" reactions work?

Can a paladin use Divine Grace (the only good 2nd-level paladin class feat, incidentally) after the saving throw and after the result is determined? After the saving throw, but before the result is determined? Or or must it be used only beforehand?

Can a rogue use Nimble Dodge after the attack has been rolled? Or must it be used only before the attack is rolled? If it must be used before the attack is rolled, how will a rogue ever get to declare it against a GM who is trying to run the game efficiently?

I had the same question around Nimble Dodge.

We only got to run the first playtest scenario today (we don't have a lot of time to play...) and we ran into the same question. Two goblins had bows in hand, when the first fired at my rogue, he used Nimble Dodge. I would have loved it if I could decide after I knew if it was a hit, because I would then have had the reaction available against the second archer, but the GM ruled otherwise. I personally think that ruling was correct, because the alternative is likely a little too favorable to the rogue. Still, an official clarification would be nice.

As written, the trigger - the moment when you can use the feat - is when you are targeted. That is before the attack roll.

Note that if the GM gets overexcited and quickly rolls attack before you have a chance to respond to it, I'd say you're well in your rights to use Nimble Dodge even though the roll has been made.

Nimble dodge is in my top 10 most broken feats - The Trigger is literally broken, it needs to be more like the REACTIVE SHIELD both in trigger and in execution so that the AC bonus stays till the beginning of your next turn.
