Demons using Planar Binding

Rules Questions

So I've got this villain for a homebrew campaign I'm writing. She's a Succubus with 12 levels as an Oracle. Her mystery is the Outer Rifts, so she's got Planar Binding as a mystery spell. Here's the thing. As a CE Outer Rifts Oracle as well as being a demon, she can't cast Lawful or Good spells. So... how can she make use of Planar Binding to call demons if she can't cast Magic Circle against Evil to maximize her odds of getting these called demons to cooperate?

A bit of background. This particular succubus has never even been to the Abyss. She was originally a Drow Noble who managed to perform all four Rituals of Fiendish Apotheosis thanks to visions from Haagenti. As such, she doesn't actually know any demons personally. In addition, she's only been a full succubus for the past couple of decades. So she doesn't really have any reputation or respect in the Abyss.

EDIT: Fixed my blunder. Originally posted Magic Circle against GOOD when I meant Magic Circle against EVIL

Call devils instead, using a magic circle against law?

Just use Thaumaturgic Circle.

Huh. I thought Thaumaturgic Circle was only good for calling elementals. Didn't know it could target outsider races specifically.

Use planar binding to bind a good outsider that can cast the required circle spell?

You could also have her buy a wand or scroll of the needed circle spell.

Always use Thaumaturgic Circle, for the "non-alignment subtype", always specify Extraplanar. ;)

Oh yes, it's very useful! :)

Why can't she cast lawful or good spells? Oracles do not have restrictions against alignment descriptor spells, unlike clerics. Also, there's nothing about having the demon, evil, or chaotic subtypes that bar casting those spells either.

An evil cleric wants to cast Planar Binding to summon a fiend. They must cast Magic Circle Against Evil to keep the fiend from ripping their face off, which they can't, as that's a good spell. Or does that mean it's okay for a good cleric to do this, because they're casting one evil and one good spell?

I think the whole Planar Binding thing is messed up :(

Is there some other bind-in-place spell she could use?

I think Planar Binding was originally written for use by arcane casters in mind, to be honest.

Silver Crusade

Actually, there's nothing preventing a demon from using a good spell. In roleplay, it probably feels uncomfortable, but a Good character can cast Evil spells, and vice-versa. It's just clerics that can't do it

Yeah, Clerics are more intended to use Planar Ally spells, not Planar Binding. And Clerics are the only ones with restrictions on what spells they can cast based on alignment.

True, but Thaumaturgic Circle is just so much easier to use mechanically than Magic Circle against Evil.
