Deific obedience question.

Rules Questions

If a person took one level of the prestige classes, would they gain boons according to the prc or according to the feat? It claims one gets them faster, but I assume it is just useless fluff to make things confusing. Thanks

If they continue taking levels of the PRC (multiple levels of it, not 1), they get the boons faster as the PRC gives it to them early.

If they only took 1 level of the PRC it doesn't help them get it faster, instead just counting towards the HD needed to get the boons from the feat.

Pretty much that.

The class gives boons out faster as class abilities over HD limits. But you have to keep leveling in the class to reach those abilities. Much like any class that doesn't give you something at level 1.

Whichever comes first - if (for whatever reason) you took the PrC sufficiently late theoretically you could get it by level earlier than the PrC gives it to you.

I've always wondered something about the Obedience abilities, but have never been able to find it spelled out.

When do you pick which of the spell-like abilities you're going to have (i.e. the 3/day, 2/day, 1/day ones.)? When you gain the ability? When you perform the obedience that morning? Or, when you first want to use one of them that day?

Once you’ve performed the obedience, you gain the benefit of a special ability or resistance as indicated in the “Obedience” entry for the god to whom you performed the obedience.

I'd rule you choose when you perform the obedience.

There is no language indicating that you make the choice when you select the feat and it cannot be changed, so it would be harsh bordering unfair to rule that way IMO.
And while there is nothing to say you can't wait until you first want to use one it's probably not particularly thematic.

Ok, ignore the fluff as usual. Thank you everyone, one more thing clarified.
