Local game Tomorrow.

Apparently getting yelled at by the wife.

Oh no! I hope everything is ok!

Last weekend: help Zelda move to New place.

This weekend: Zelda's boy had his first high school football game. Then we went to the various area downtown/uptown areas and hung event flyers.

Now we are thinking about getting back to work on unpacking.

Well, this past Saturday I ran my Pathfinder game. It went pretty well, though I ended up improvising a big chunk of it when they took a left turn at Albuquerque. It started out with "Roll initiative", as it began with the PCs in a pitched battle with my version of Half-Orcs (they're a race unto themselves called the Guti in my homebrew). I had hoped the players would follow them back to the main part of the raiding party and discover a couple of clues to something farther down the road. But they went in a different direction so I just had random encounters with Will O' Wisps and a pair of Witchfires, which scared the crap out of them and nearly killed two of the characters. But they ended up at the gates of the provincial capitol where the New Year's celebration was underway (the new year falls on the first day of Spring). So that's where we left off.

How did your weekends go?

Illinois has been hot. Heat index of 105 hot. Going to high school football games, doing moving and unpacking activities, hanging event flyers...and Zelda's new place has no AC...it really was not a pleasant weekend from that standpoint.

Our heat indices were like that and higher throughout July. I'm hoping that things stay about where they are until Autumn, which is being predicted as being very warm, so they're probably won't be any color to the leaves and a warm, dull winter.

With the toy store closed I'm most likely back to shoveling snow this year, so hopefully this winter is rich in moisture but mild in temperature.

This weekend is Labor Day, so it's a three day weekend. I could really use that. Maybe even get some Pathfinder in again, since we haven't actually been able to play anything since May.

I hope you get to!

I've got 4 groups going.

5 adult players: Not since May. Next session isn't even scheduled yet due to real life stuff for everyone.

2 adults, 2 kids: We play this one by ear, but this is Aiymi, Zelda, and 2 of Zelda's kids. The kids aren't the biggest issue, although The Boy is now in HS freshmen football. But Zelda's been in the middle of a move and Aiymi had her health issues this summer. Aiymi goes back to work for the first time on Tuesday.

2 adults: Aiymi and Zelda. See above.

1 adult: Aiymi. See above.

I've just got the one group, thank goodness. We manage to get together about every 2 weeks, sometimes 3. One would think that being unable to work I'd have nothing but time to play or run another group or two but my anxiety disorder and chronic pain prevent me from doing more than I currently do. I do miss playing in multiple games with different systems a lot, though. A lot.

Anxiety disorders can be absolutely crippling. Your body has 11 extra years on it over mine, but I also understand what chronic pain is like (several herniated discs over the last 15 years for starters). You do what you can, you find your limits, and pretty much don't go beyond them unless you have to.

That's it exactly. I wish more people, even some very close friends, understood that.

So, everyone, what's the plan this weekend? This is our off weekend, so I have no real plans other than lunch with a friend and working on an NPC challenger for our Monk in next weekend's gaming. In fact I'd appreciate any input on an 8th or 9th level Brawler. I've never rolled one up before and I'm having a little trouble putting it together.

So who's doin' what?

A local game on Sunday. More playtest.

Pathfinder Society with the local lodge tomorrow (#10-01 Oathbreakers Die) and Sunday (PSP #1 The Rose Street Revenge), huzzah! Monday currently presents endless possibilities since I'm off work but have nothing in particular planned :)

I'm holding out for the kids' group maybe Saturday evening. The Boy has a football game at 11am on Saturday, so the three of us are going to that first, then we'll decide from there.

I have an ambitious plan for the weekend! I'm going to catch up on my superhero movies, both Deadpool 2 and Black Panther.

Wait, did I say ambitious?.. I meant to say awesome!

But instead I'm currently walking the dog and he's trying to lead me into hazardous conditions, probably because he knows I'm twiddling on my phone.

Also, I need to look into SFS games in our area, but it's kind of pointless until the Armory is sanctioned, mostly because I love that book and can't imagine not being able to use it.

What are SFS games?

Starfinder Society.

Ah, ok. Thanks!

That explains why I haven't joined Starfinder Society, it meets 6-10 Tuesday nights, on the east side.

Yeah, that's not happening.

Happy Labor Day! So what plans do folks have today? I'm not doing anything. The band my son plays with has a broken down van in Austin, TX. Not having a working vehicle of my own, I was going to have him take me to his uncle's cookout. But, no vehicle no food. That's ok, though. I'd probably eat too much and make myself miserable. Who am I kidding? That's what I go for!

No plans. Helped Aiymi with some housework. Now she's napping. I'm bored.

There are things around the house I COULD be doing, but......

I played video games, as a laborer I take my holiday very seriously.

I've done PbP and played Pokemon Sun all day!

Did I mention that it can take Aiymi a week to roll up one 1st level character sometimes? In our campaign that's just her and myself GMing, she usually runs 2-3 characters and I add 1-2 GMPCs to help her round out a standard 4-5 character party.

She wants to do Rise of the Runelords, but after a week since deciding this she's still fiddling with one character idea and hasn't started on any others.

Her first idea is a wolf-kin skinwalker druid (wolf shaman archetype) with the travel domain, then pick up a wolf animal companion through eldritch heritage and boon companion. I like it.

Her second character she has narrowed down to "some kind of wizard...I think".

LOL!!

I have 3 days to roll up an NPC baddie for my next game. It's been two weeks since our last game, but have I worked on it? NoooooOO.

The Boy has a game tonight, so we're going to that...and it will be a wet mess... The good news at the freshmen level is that they rarely even try to pass the ball.

Last night Aiymi had a 4pm meeting at the office, which she attended, then she went back to her desk. Was reading something on her screen, leaned back in her chair, crossed her arms, and fell asleep. She woke up when one of the construction guys started hammering. Got home around 7:30 or so. Did not work on her characters. That concludes about 2 weeks of fiddling with the druid ideas and not starting on her "some kind of wizard". I have no idea what the weekend brings, but if we're hanging out with Zelda for most of it then it's going to be sometime next week before she even looks at it again.

Tomorrow is my wife's birthday.

I remembered this today.

Fortunately, I get paid this week so I can just spend a bunch of money and make it all better.

That was a close one!

You are luckier that I was earlier this year...

I forgot my own wedding anniversary and didn't even give my wife a card.

She was more disappointed in my than angry... which, honestly, is worse.

(Two days later, I took her out to the restaurant we went for dinner on the day we were married. I think she forgave me!)

We spent last weekend driving to New York City to drop off the kid to start her first year at college. (Technically, the college is just north of the City, but hey! New York!!)

My wife flew out of JFK to California for work the next day, and I drove home. She's stuck at the client site over this weekend, so I'm on my own. I tried to organize a dinner party/board game night fro Saturday, but it seems that all of my friends have other plans. I think I'll head over to a local brewpub Saturday night for their Oktoberfest. I usually bump into someone I know when I'm there.

As for gaming...

I'm in two different gaming groups right now. My "Pathfinder Playtest: Doomsday Dawn" group met last night, and I'm joining my "Sixguns and Sorcery" Fate game later tonight.

Going to run PF this Saturday night, if the Good Lord's willin' and the creeks don't rise (my Arkansas is showing today). They've arrived at a provincial capitol where it's the first day of Spring and the New Year's celebrations are getting underway. Hopefully they'll at least stay within the area of the plot I've outlined, but my options of 1, 2, or 3 are usually tossed aside for their options of Q, M, or J...lol

The Boy's team won 46-0 last night. That was also the halftime score.

Wow, that's great! Some schools invoke a mercy rule when it's that one sided.

Crush your enemies,
See them driven before you,
And here the lamentation of their cheerleaders.

Local Game Day tomorrow.

It's the weekend! Woooo! Party party! And by party, I mean adventuring party. Who's gaming this weekend? Who's taking it easy and who's unfairly working on the weekend? We're not scheduled to play for another two weeks, but my GF is coming down so there's that. So what's going on with you guys?

Do we go to Oktoberfest and the national Cornholing championships (the Super Bowl of professional cornholing) or do we go to Cheese Days (which only comes around every two years).

I'd be all about Cheese Day.

The Boy's freshmen football team played last night and won 32-6. The defense gave up their first touchdown of the year. So far, in four games, they've outscored the opposition 162-12. They were very upset they even allowed one touchdown so far (the other touchdown was a kick return in the first game).

Otherwise, probably no gaming this weekend. Zelda has a full plate tomorrow and I'm her chauffer. Not sure what Aiymi is planning for Saturday. Sunday is kinda up in the air.

Tekko all-hands staff meeting this coming Sunday.

This weekend: no table-top adventuring, because I'm doing some real-life adventuring.

I'm going to Spain!

Wow!!!

Part of last Saturday was a blacksmithing class. FUN.

This weekend? No clue. Zelda is getting ready for a one day festival that she's coordinating, so she's likely to be too busy to get together. Might be just Aiymi and I.

Howdy, all. What are plans this weekend? Vanykrye, did you finalize any plans since your last post here?

This weekend is another weekend off for us. A couple of the players are going to a con and another has some other plans, as well. If we have 3 or more players unable to attend we usually postpone until the next weekend, so that's what's happening with us tomorrow.

So what about youse guys?

Zelda is swamped.

Aiymi and I will try to get in her new Rise of the Runelords attempt. This will be her third crack it.
