To any interested GMs,
I am currently part of a group of 4 adventurers who have just survived the grueling adventure that is Book 1 of the Giantslayer campaign. Our remaining party of "Expendables" consists solely of half-orc outcasts from town who are nevertheless fighting the good fight on behalf of Trunau. Our cast of characters:
Grod the Cunning, Mad Dog Barbarian and his pet rhino Cera
Yverstrix Halfbloodsson, Hateful Rager Barbarian
Malthu the Redeemed, Sanctified Slayer Inquisitor of Iomedae
Shivarra, Classic Witch
Our GM is setting us loose due to demands on his time, but has generously offered to assist with any transition to another GM who would be willing to help us pick up at Book 2. We have a solid group that has been at this for over a year now, so we're capable of making steady progress. If you've been thinking about running a game and suspect this might be a good match, please let us know in this thread! You can find the gameplay thread here.

Hello prospective GMs,
Just wanted to refresh the thread since it's Friday to pique some interest! Without spoiling anything, our group finds ourselves with a surprising revelation underneath Trunau that may threaten its existence. What exactly have the adventurers found, and what evil forces are seeking these things? We would be so thankful if you help us find out!* So please step on up and sign on the dotted line, it'll be fun!

*Or turn us into giant food in the attempt.

Serious and realstic, yes, for maximum immersion. No excessive focus on combat, so that it doesn't turn into a sequence of tactical map encounters with brief transitions inbetween.
What do you count under 'romance' category, besides the long-term relationships with someone specific? Because at the very least there's my (mostly) naked witch, which is probably pertinent to NPC interactions, and some flirting with Grod with an implied promise to revisit the matter when we're not knee-deep in orc guts. So it's probably a thing.
Politics would be nice where appropriate, although I don't think our party is suited for the field, so we'll probably endeavour to bypass a lot of political issues we might encounter. Likely through violence ^_^

I enjoy roleplay, so if that's what serious means I'm for it. I'm less concerned about "realistic" in the most literal sense--how realistic are dragons and magic? Sometimes I enjoy epic; other times gritty. I'm pretty flexible.
I also enjoy tactical combat, preferably with a map. I enjoy tough challenges and don't want the GM to pull punches if things are going poorly--it's up to us to figure out how to live, and sometimes it's just time to run away.
Most of all, I want to play the game the GM wants to play. You're making the world and we're doing our part to give it life and surprise.

Agreed. It's a role-playing game, so I'm totally good with there being role-playing and not just leaping from encounter to encounter (well, sometimes there's time pressures, but in general). I like the thought of interacting with the rest of the party and, for that matter, the rest of the world.
As Shivarra said, a game with internal consistency is great -- and, really, that's what allows actions to have actual consequences that make sense, which is good for everyone's engagement.
In terms of the harshness/dying thing, it's never been my favorite thing to get x3 critted to death through no fault of my own -- but I'd rather that then fudging away any sense of danger.

Corsario, I think you are our GM! Thank you again for taking this on--we'll work hard to make it fun for you! Any thoughts about how to handle things logistically? We will need to coordinate with GM Fuzzfoot too do the handover. We also have this giant mess of loot that I have no idea if we can sell, but it would certainly be nice to catch up on gear.
Maybe we can move the discussion over to the Discussion thread?
