Panther Style

Rules Questions

Hi all,

If I only have 5ft of reach and an enemy with 20ft of reach attacks me as I'm moving through its threatened space, would I still be able to make a retaliatory strike against that enemy?

Thanks!

"Most creatures of Medium or smaller size have a reach of only 5 feet. This means that they can make melee attacks only against creatures up to 5 feet (1 square) away."

Oh I was hoping I could slap the enemy's tentacle or arm as they came at me.

you can use acrobatic to go through the enemys attack range fields. or risking an attack of opportunity.

there ARE feats to do things like this.
for attacking back see Strike back
for grappling back (only for grabbing the attacking bite attack) see Snoutgrip.

there might be more.

Opponents with reach are the bane of panther style and snake style.

However you could use acrobatics to close to within 5' of your opponent and then move normally, thereby provoking an AOO when you're close enough to retaliate.
