Hello,
So i'm planning on playing a Mythic adventure but i got a little confused with how to create NPC especially when it comes to calculate his/her CR.
What i understand so far : You pick a monster whose CR is based on class level and not Hit Dice, you add the class features of your choices based on the role you want your NPC to fill, you add Mythic Ranks and all the features you want.
Here i got stuck : based on the rules for NPC, the CR is calculated like this 'Class level of the NPC -1 (-2 if he got only NPC class levels)' and what i understood you should add half the Mythic Ranks to the CR but two questions come to my mind
1- How do you equip your NPC ? With gear equal to the sum of his CR + RM or just based on her CR
2- In Mythic Adventures, in the sample adventure "Fire over Blackcrag" the final boss 'Sorzan' is a fighter 2/guardian 4 so she should be CR 6 according to the math so why is she CR 12 ??

1) However you'd like. Normally, NPCs have less wealth than Player Characters, which is why a same-level NPC should be a bit weaker than a PC. That's not an absolute rule, though. The bonus from mythic ranks should be counted in their CR.
2) She's also an Efreeti (CR 8). Then you get +2 CR for her two levels in Fighter and another +2 for half of her Mythic Tier, and bingo, CR 12.

I don't add the bonus for Mythic Tiers to CR. I agree with the Mythic Heroes Handbook that this was one of the things Mythic Adventures got wrong. Yes, add it for the PCs, but not the NPCs.
I also believe in adding the Villains Path whenever necessary. It adds an additional mythic overlay with a few villainous options in addition to Villainous Mythic Points which gives the NPC +2 mythic points per mythic opponent.
I've found that these adjustments work well to keep my mythic encounters suitably challenging.

No. It won't unbalance it. Mythic gameplay is heavily weighed toward the players due to action economy. They will always overrun the bad guys.
I often add at least one mythic feat on top of the templates to give it a bit of customization and variety.
Building NPCs with full mythic tiers is fine. Templates are just there for quick mythic needs on the go.
