Combat casting or blind fight?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Silver Crusade

I'll be brief I'm weighing between these 2 for a crane style magus and I'm wondering which would be more beneficial.

I'm leaning towards blind fight since that would get rid of a massive weakness, but combat casting is one of those fears you don't think you need until you need it

So between these 2 which is more beneficial assuming the character goes the crane style route?

given that you're more likely to have to cast spells while in melee range, I'd say combat casting is more important, or do you KNOW that you'll have to fight invisible foes while inside a darkness spell very soon?

Having played most of a module with an Arcane Duelist Bard, I would say it all depends on your style of play.

I like adaptable characters ones with no clear weaknesses that can be exploited.

Blind Fight

Assuming you keep your intelligence up, you'll eventually be auto succeeding on most of your concentration checks. If you buy Gloves of Elvenkind, the point where you auto succeed will come much earlier.

If you are concerned about low level, take the Focused Mind trait.

Blind Fighting works against anything that grants an opponent concealment. Fog, dim light, Blur, Displacement, etc.

Throwing up Obscuring Mist becomes much more advantageous when you have a free reroll on all miss chances.
