So what's the most effective way (or, for a start, A way-) to change acid arrows to ice arrows, fireballs to iceballs, lightning bolts into bolts of cold, etc in society play? Feats, items, boons?
My dragon blooded sorcerer gets a damage bonus on cold but the only spell it will apply to for a long, long time is Ray of Frost-- which is ok, since it never runs out, but in the meantime does anyone have any suggestions on how to expand on it?

Mask of conflicting energies - 3/day, flip a spell of 3rd level or less to the opposite energy type
Landon Hatfield wrote: Mask of conflicting energies - 3/day, flip a spell of 3rd level or less to the opposite energy type I had not seen that item before. Is it considered using a metamagic feat? Spontaneous casters are curious :)

Yes I like that mask of conflicting energies but have not used it yet.

Snowball is a first level cold spell from People of the North and Ultimate Wilderness. You must use the write up in UW though.

And Flurry of Snowballs is 2nd level ^_^
Nefreet wrote: And Flurry of Snowballs is 2nd level ^_^ Tallow, Nefreet, most excellent! Thanks for the tip!
Do I need the Ultimate Wilderness book to use these spells in Society play?
Or can I just print them off of the PFSRD?
It must be a source you own, such as a watermarked PDF or a physical book you own.
Tallow wrote: Snowball is a first level cold spell from People of the North and Ultimate Wilderness. You must use the write up in UW though. Was there a blog or something stating this? I don't see anything in Additional Resources stating that you have to use the version from Ultimate Wilderness (yet). I was looking for that when AR updated, but it isn't there that I can see. I expect that eventually that will be the case. I'm just not sure it is right now.
The blog post announcing several of the Ultimate Wilderness changes and how to deal with them in PFS, and campaign clarifications.
Do you have a link or know what that blog was called? Because I'm not finding it, and don't remember it. I probably lost it in all the PF 2.0 blogs. There should really be a note in Additional Resources under People of the North if that version isn't valid anymore.
EDIT: Or at least a note on the Ultimate Wilderness entry. I'm not trying to be difficult here. I honestly cannot find a blog describing what to do about the changes in Ultimate Wilderness. I know about the one for Adventurer;s Guide, but cannot find/never saw a comparable one for Ultimate Wilderness. I've looked through the blogs back through February, and I've done a search on Blog in this forum, and the only ones I'm finding have to do with PF 2.0, new scenarios releasing, the Concordance, and Animal Companions/Familiars.

Strange that the web version of campaign clarifications doesn't have this info yet.

Regardless, if you're going to use any option for a PFS character, you must own the source it comes from. You may use *any* source it comes from, though, regardless of errata. So like with Snowball, you could use either People of the North or Ultimate Wilderness, even though the only legal version comes from UW.

Personally, I like the visual arrangement of the d20pfsrd to AoN, but I always warn people that some of the text is not verbatim from the rules. So, if you find something there that is interesting to you, look for the source material reference and read the official text. Course, I say that for any and all rules regardless if you are looking at Archives of Nethys, HeroLab, etc. The only way to guarantee the text is correct is to read it from the source. And since for OP, you have to own the source anyway, this should not be an issue.

Thanks. It wasn't a blog. Just a forum post. That explains why searching blogs didn't come up with anything.
Yeah, took me a bit to find it.
the Admixture sub-school (for evocation) Wizards can change the energy type.
