Back when I first started playing, my then friend(now gf) helped me build my firstcharacter since it was a high level game and I joined at the last moment. She built me a crusader from 3.5's Tome of Nine Swords and since then the mechanics of the class always stuck with me.It instilled in me a love of extradorinary and unique abilities of martials, that allowed each crusader, warblade, or swordsage to play very differently from one another. It also reflected the kind of zany and intense powers of the media I grew up with and adored(anime, video games, fantasy novels, and mythology from all over the world)
And I know with pathfinder, the company dreamscarred press brought them over as a third party option. However as I read about P2E and listen to the modular leveling system and the way in wich Proficencies( especially legendary proficencies) work and how the team seems to make martias and skill users as legendary as spellcasters I am excited to see if I can return to that feeling that I felt with Rook the Warforged Guardian.
Now I doubt Paizo will take the design philosophy of the "iniatiate classes" But I do think the vibe and maybe some simillar abilities can come out of it. And if Dreamscarred press does make stuff for P2E I can imagine The Initiate classes they come up for it can seemlessly work with the action ecnomy,and leveling system of P2E.
I know some people don't like the initate system, and from my understanding it sort of was the predesecor to what people didnt like about 4E(I could be wrong. I didn't really join the community into about maybe 4 years ago really so what i know is from passing).
But I am excited about this premise and the way in which Martials could truly become legendary.
Would people be interested in martials having some abilities that resemble initiate abilities?
