Greetings,
I've been creating tools for both D&D and Pathfinder for over a decade, and I was wondering: Will 3rd party publishers be able to get copies of the playtest rules to prepare new products for PF2nd?
I ask because it takes many months of hard work to create a new tool (like I did for the 5th edition of D&D) and having a 'baseline' in advance greatly helps - even if these are not the final rules.
Thanks!

I'm in a similar situation with Dyslexic Character Sheets, but I'm not too concerned about getting early access because:
- Information is being released now, and though it's still just a trickle it's enough to start thinking about.
- Many decisions probably haven't been made yet. The August publication date for the playtest is also the date at which decisions are set.
- The playtest is nearly a year long, giving plenty of time to design character sheets.
- It's been stated that the playtest is NOT covered by any compatibility license so it will not be possible to publish any products as officially compatible with it. It will be covered by the OGL, because that's how the OGL works, but any official releases will have to wait for the actual launch.

I was asking because the FAQ included a mention that other 3rd party were already ...reviewing the playtest rules and determining their best steps forward. Some might be ready by launch on August 2, while others will provide basic services through the playtest and fully implement the rules for the official release in the future
I have no intention of releasing Playtest material, but getting a head start to be able to compete with other 3rd, is certainly a concern!
Hence my original query.

Oh, so the big players have sneak peek early access, while us little guys have to wait until the general public get it? Yeah, that is a little unfair.
If there's a close-enough version of the playtest rules that's been released to select third parties, it should be available to the rest of us as well. Perhaps limit it to those with an existing entry on the Pathfinder Compatible Products Register, and who sign a simple NDA if necessary.
