Liberty's Edge

So I'm making a tiefling and with them I found a chart of random oddities that could manifest from being touched by such malfesence, one of which was having one eye like a cyclops. I cant for the life of me figure out how to make a Drawback to reflect this dealing with the lack of depth perception. The Cyclops page actually says the visual acquity is higher due to the larger eye except for depth perception.

Make them easier to dazzle or glamor, more susceptible to blinding effects and dirty tricks. A small but permanent miss chance if they choose archery.

Why does there HAVE to be an associated drawback?

Where is this chart?

It's #21 on alternate physical features according to D20pfsrd...

Blood of Fiends apparently added it to tiefling instead of having the the Fiendish Heritage feat

Oh that chart. I have the book I guess I never looked that closely at the chart. Thanks. :)

My other question then what would be a good trait type plus then? I kinda figured plus to perception and something.

Thanks for that dirty trick idea. It could apply to sandstorm conditions and maybe acid? Also I want a drawback because I like having background and attributes do as much as possbile. Thus why I play Pathfinder. So many options, Everywhere.

How about range increments on weapons is worse or something?

I would extend darkvision, but with a -2 on stealth because his big eye reflects light like a cat's eye or the objective lense of a scope.

Miss chance, ranged, permanent... if the attack roll beats the target AC by less than the tiefling's dex mod, roll a D10. If the result is more than the tiefling's dex mod, the shot misses instead.

Good idea. Maybe for every range increment beyond 2nd, there is a 5ft penalty? So if its say 20-foot increment then at 60ft your in the 4th increment instead of 3rd because it's only 15.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I like that. 60ft darkvision, +4 to perception, and -2 to stealth b/c of animal-like reflection and -2 to save vs sandstorm eye conditions and -2 vs dirty trick made to blind

The permanent miss chance can be negated with a +10 dex mod, because it is impossible to roll higher than that on a D10. So if he is really dedicated to using a bow, he can overcome his disability.

Obviously use wis mod, or whatever he is using to aim the bow, if he has the ability to use something in place of dexterity to aim.
