To start with, Chevalier is a 3rd-party prestige Class, not an archtype.
Second, it requires a BAB of +6, you you can't go into it until your Paladin is 6th level.

Back to the main question: what to spend 10k on?

Is your character already equipped with the basics? 'cause full plate is 1500 gp. Composite bows that allow Str to damage costly, as well.

Good items that most non-arcane types take in early are:
1. Cloak of Resistance +1 / 1,000 gp
2. Armor +1 / 1,000 gp
3. Shield +1 / 1,000 gp
4. Weapon +1 / 2,000 gp

That's 5,000 gp expended already. What else?
Possible upgrades:
1a. Cloak -> +2
1b. Armor -> +2
1c. Shield -> +2
... all of these cost an additional 3,000 gp
2. Weapon is adamantine, +4,000 gp.
3. Drop Shield +1, then spend 6,000 to:
3a. buy the Weapon to +2. If you take in Holy Bond Weapon, you can choose to make the weapon +3, which sidesteps any requirements for silver or cold iron.
3b. buy the weapon a Bane property. Bane vs Outsiders (Evil) works nicely on Demons & Devils.
3c. buy the weapon some other +1 equivalent property that might come up a lot in your campaign.
4. Buy a lot of consumables. Potions of Cure Light Wounds, Bull Strength, Air Bubble, Holy Water, Alchemical Fire and Antitoxins are usefull to have around.

Did you mean Shining Knight archetype and miss the translation? The numerals 10.000 instead of 10,000 is suggestive of a European background, and Chevalier would be a good translation for the concept.

If you're going with a bonded mount, then barding or a magic saddle can also fit into the budget.

Chevalier literally means Knight

If we are talking about this Chevalier, it is by Paizo and not 3rd party -- but it was also written for D&D 3.5 rather than Pathfinder.

Yep. A literal translation for Shining Knight would be Chevalier Brillant if memory serves, but I haven't read a D&D book in French since 2001-2002.

Instead of enchanting the Shield to +1 for 1,000 gp, save the 1,000 and add it to the remaining 5,000 to get 6,000 for the next level of enchantment on the weapon.

Note that all of this assumes that the armor & weapon have already been acquired, and that they are masterwork items as well. That's 300 gp for the weapon, and 150 gp @ for the armor and shield...

Ok, drop the sheild in favor of sepnding the gold elsewhere.
I get you now.
