Should the Soldier Ally card (RotR) have the Soldier trait so that it can be affected by cards like Horn of Battle Clarity (Paladin class deck)?

Almost certainly. You'll probably find others too. We often introduce traits in later sets that make us think we should go back in time and paper them all over earlier cards, but so far Vic hasn't given us the budget for a time machine.
I just froze when I started to imagine what not-this-Mike could do with a time machine...
