Armored Juggernaut - levels, or fighter levels? (Armor Master's Handbook)

Question - for the Fighter's Advanced Armor Training, Armored Juggernaut, does the additional DR come in with character level, or fighter level?

(I have a fighter 1/alchemist X in PFS considering fighter 3 in order to take the Advanced Armor Training feat to grab the DR)

Source Armor Master's Handbook pg. 14
When wearing heavy armor, the fighter gains DR 1/—. At 7th level, the fighter gains DR 1/— when wearing medium armor, and DR 2/— when wearing heavy armor. At 11th level, the fighter gains DR 1/— when wearing light armor, DR 2/— when wearing medium armor, and DR 3/— when wearing heavy armor. If the fighter is 19th level and has the armor mastery class feature, these DR values increase by 5. The DR from this ability stacks with that provided by adamantine armor, but not with other forms of damage reduction. This damage reduction does not apply if the fighter is helpless, stunned, or unconscious.

Almost all class abilities mean the class that they're written in, e..g a druid 1 rogue3 doesnt get wildshape even though the ability says 'at 4th level.' If it means total character level,, that is usually specifically called out.

Silver Crusade

So, fighter level ;)

Though you could opt for Variant Multiclass: fighter, if it's not in PFS

Note that there are a number of effects and prerequisites that rely on a character’s level or Hit Dice. Such effects are always based on the total number of levels or Hit Dice a character possesses, not just those from one class. The exception to this is class abilities, most of which are based on the total number of class levels that a character possesses of that particular class.

Thanks Walrus!

Looks like the Armor Master archetype is how you grab DR 3 when dipping fighter (5) vs. single-classing.
