subsonic hum forever if failed?

Rules Questions

subsonic hum
this has the subsonic hum ability, if you fail your save do you need to make another one the next round until you eventually save out of it?

Any living creature starting its turn within this aura must succeed at a DC 22 Fortitude save or be stunned for 1 round. A creature that successfully saves cannot be affected by the same carnivorous crystal’s subsonic hum for 24 hours. This is a sonic mind-affecting effect. The save DC is Constitution-based.

It looks like yes - unless someone kills the crystal, or moves it away, or moves you away, or casts silence etc.

Actually, no. If you are stunned and stay in range, then you get entrapped, then you get crystallized becoming helpless, then you are dead and recycled into a new crystal.
I rather expect that once you are helpless the hum attack is no longer needed, so to save energy is ceased.

you only get entrapped if you're hit, so if they aren't hitting you cause it's attacking your team then you'd be next to it, would you need to keep making saves against the hum?

Grand Lodge

It definitely reads as you having to make the save each round unless you've succeeded.

Yep, keep saving--same as if you were standing in an aura of fire, you're getting exposed to the effect as long as you remain in its area.
