Okay So a group of my very good friends here got together for a game, which i am now in charge of. It has been very slow going, but due to a couple of drop outs i am in charge. I am not very good at maps, so they will be minimal unless a sudden breakthrough in computer knowledge goes up.

I am looking for a couple of fresh charectors to add into the mix, using the build rules here.

25 point buy
Allowed Material: I'd Prefer you stick to paizo products, but i will take a look at a link and think about it. Same thing with race, I prefer you to be somewhat standard but if you really want to make a half catfolk, half strix half drow half dragon go for it, just realize it probably reduces your chances to be picked.
Starting Wealth: Max for class(1st level) +150 gp
Traits: 1 Campaign + 1 other (may take drawback for a 3rd if you wish)

You will be starting at level 2

We will do HP with a roll,Max at 1 and you can roll it and keep it or 1/2 hd +1 + con bonus.

The party consists of 2 gladiators turned pathdfinders, a pathfinder mage, and well A carnival worker who hits things really really hard.

My PC will pop in and out since originally he was part of the group. He was a songhealer bard and sorceror.

I will accept any application but the party aside from the mage is very melee heavy. could definitely use a healery sort and something ranged.

Please Note this has been a pretty slow moving game and while i intend to speed it up you are looking at 3- 5 posts a week probably from me.

Thanks for taking the time.

Recuitment will last till the 21st at least.

Interesting. Let me look at the Player's Guide and see what I think fits.

Likewise. Definitely interested. Would you consider using the Spheres of Might playtest, found here? I've got a few ideas floating around that could be an interesting addition if you're willing to give it a look over.

Dotting.

Current ideas include kineticist (hydro or aether for healing), white mage arcanist or just cleric or hunter with a ranged weapon.

Dotting for interest....

Background skills?

Regular skills. Although their may be time to work on crafting and the like it wont be as much probably.

Also it occured to me to add that while we arent talking rated X type adulting here this is most definitely not a pg 13 sort of game so far. If you are looking for a family friendly version of Shattered star, this probably wont be the game you want to get into.

Thanks again.

Im wavering on it, did you have something more specific in mind? like what are you wanting to build?

A sniper Crossbowman, though my class is undecided. I think I may want to go Conscript, and pick up some extra utility talents with the myriad of combat talents a Conscript gets, likely through Alchemy, Scouting, and/or the warblade sphere.

This is the Shattered Star AP, I presume? I don't know too much about it; does it take place in a particular part of Golarion? Anything that a prospective player should know to enjoy it more?

From the Player's Guide, it starts in Magnimar some time after the events of Rise of the Runelords.

Its starts off in Magnimar in Varisia, and yes it is the shattered star AP. The entirity of Book 1 takes place within the city.

You will be working with Sheila Heidmarch and the pathfinders, and probably will be a pathfinder yourself for the entirity of book 1. So expect city environs.

I would suggest downloading the players guide, it is free and something in it might tickle your fancy. In the lower and poorer parts of the city there is a sizable Sczarni criminal element with several street gangs running rampant.

If you have an idea of what sort of charector you want to play i can tailor what might be of interest to you.

The campaign, to my knowledge, travels across a large chunk of Varisia and is considered to take place after every other AP that occurs in the country so Runelords, Crimson Throne, 2nd Darkness, etc. by what has been written. Of course if our good DM deems otherwise so be it.

By the way, I was playing Sarinah if you look at the gameplay any, due to her twin disappearing I am swapping to a lust wizardess and am willing to work connections up with those chosen if so desired.

I'm thinking of probably an Oracle or Alchemist, haven't decided yet.

I have the player's companion, I just haven't read it yet, and of course getting info direct from the DM about their specific campaign is always better than just getting generic info that might've been changed. :D

This character is a support/healer bard, I originally made her for Wrath of the Righteous but couldn't get into a game, so I can rebuild her for Shattered Star!

EDIT: Ok, rebuilt for Shattered Star, as an outcast noble of Magnimar who took up the wandering bardic lifestyle of a Pathfinder. Strong social skills, support healing and party buffs!

If this is still open, I would like to try for a theurge character.

I can spin one up fairly quick.

There will almost certainly be some crossing of paths if this character winds up in the same group with a lust wizardess.

recruitment will be up at least till the 21st. I would say pending but i appear to see several good looking options already. :)

Just bringing this back to your attention. I'm at work at the moment, though, can't do too much.

Dotting for interest.

Silver Crusade

Applying as Flutshy Kaddren.

Not too special in terms of function, a life oracle doing standard life oracle things.

.

But behold, his glorious 10-foot speed! Fear, for when he runs, he can move a full thirty feet!

Liberty's Edge

Dotting for interrest.

Is there some role the party lacks currently?

Noted previously, they need a healer/buffer!

Dark Archive

Dotting, I have in mind a Kobold Alchemist, who pulls in a bit if healing as well as ranged (After all what Kobold ever gets in close with a sword?)

Here's the alias I'm using, a Golden Kobold, so that I'm not immediately killed because everyone is wondering why I'm so shinny, Yark!

Thanks I have some ideas to fit either role. I think I might choose my Desna lunar/lore Oracle

While the party definitely needs a healer most, there is a distinctlack of ranged attacks as well and i plan on accepting two so make what tou really want to play.

Liberty's Edge

I have a ranged attacker oracle with a little buff spells in mind. I'm going to pick the Nontraditional Native trait.

Well the whole idea around this Kobold is ranged and Traps. I set a trap, walk back a few squares, shoot my crossbow, and watch as the melee tries to get close by walking over my trap.

Also realized, Alchemist is the second most expensive class to start!

Kip is ready for deployment! Don't know what else you'd like in the Profile.

As a character he will play a semi-Face, being able to speak with people to a moderate degree. He will use his discoveries(at least the first two) to gain extra limbs. He'll be reloading a crossbow and throwing bombs at he same time ^-^ later he'll focus on his bombs, after he has four arms. He can disable traps at a range(or set them off) and will stick to the distance with his weapons of choice.

Thinking of playing a shaman. Healer and Ranged attacks. Still have to think about it!

Rex: Background:
Rex Jamuson was born in a minor temple to Erastil inside the forest of Arthfell in Andoran. His father was a skilled hunter in the temple helping to guide the pilgrims to and from the temple and back to Oregent or Augustana depending on thier final destination. His mother is a Soceity agent who had heard rumors of a small Erastil soceity deep in Arthfell and wanted to study how they worshipped her compared to the people in Almas.

From a young age Rex showed skill with his fathers old longbow, and in the early teens he started going with his father when guiding the pilgrims, when he wasn't studying the power of the divine which Erastil gave to her followers. It was during one of these trips that they came under attack by a group of bandits, whom while not skilled fighters mortally wounded his father with a deadly poison. The young Rex couldn't help his father, his own skills insufficient to treat the poison and so he passed away once the reach Oregent.

Having no way to support herself and her son, Rex's mother returned to the Society in Almas to work around the lodge while her son finished his studies into the holy order of Erastil. He longed to leave Andoran for a time and see the world, so he started training to become a field agent under the tutelage of his mother. At the age of 20 Rex was traveling to Absalom with his mother to undergo the confirmation and officially become a field agent. The mission went well and his skill with both the divine magic and his bow had help keep all the aspirants alive to return. Now he is being sent to Magnimar to learn about the life of a pathfinder in the frontier.

Well I have the background all finished up. I'm just debating on the cleric or warpriest at the moment.
I've changed my idea and am taking the Exchange agent for the character.

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Starfinder Adventure Path Subscriber

I'm working on a half-orc shaman. She will be a healer and buffer/debuffer.

The background needs a bit more work but I came up with an arcanist for ranged support with a bit of healing.

”Background WIP”:
Mitabu trained in Nantambu deep within the Mwangi Expanse, it was there he began to rub shoulders with the adventurer’s who frequented Sharrowsmith’s Exports. He wanted to add to the eldritch knowledge of Nantambu. He heard tales of mysterious far off lands. Though the canopy of the jungle concealed many mysteries he found himself drawn to the third hand tales of the far off land of Varisia. The Rise of Karzoug, the city of monuments, sin magic… these intrigued him. He’d buy drinks and barter his knowledge for another piece of the puzzle. Two years ago he made a decision, he began to train to become a member of the Pathfinder Society and once he had achieved this goal he wasted no time in making the trek to Magnimar.

Now he has finally reached his destination, Magnimar, even if Karzoug has fallen the ruins and monuments of that ancient empire lie around him in the city. Working as a pathfinder will allow him to gain the resources he requires to begin to unravel the mysteries of Thassilon. Oh he’s never understand every aspect, that will be many lifetimes of work, but he will acquire new knowledge to return to his homeland with and prove his worth.

Mitabu is quick to smile and has continued enjoying the company and strange tales of his comrades in the Pathfinder Society. When the situation will allow he likes to take the chance to prepare for combat but if the situation will not allow he’ll throw caution to the wind if needed in the moment. He’s becoming curious about the Shoanti and Varisians, no doubt their languages and tales hold further clues.

You are noted good sir, still reading through all the spheres of power stuff no worries.

I always forget! A bit about me as a player:

* I run several games here and play in a few others so I'm not going away any time soon.
* I tend to play with an eye toward "What will make things fun for the whole group?" and with a lot of role-playing opportunities, but I also try to be helpful mechanically. I don't generally pursue peak optimization.
* I'm happy to tweak my character based on what makes good sense for fitting with the party.

Cheers!

Silver Crusade

Never really did take a chance to look through any of that spheres stuff myself, either. Only the smallest glance.

Shortly after the weekend I'll have something put together. Father's day has me doing a boatload of catering right now. Still mulling ideas over for a Conscript, but a quick question; Is variant multiclassing on the table?

Edit: Ignore that. VMC options don't fit what I've got in my head nearly as much as I thought I remembered.

Edit 2: Wow,they really changed the Deadly Shot from the sniping tree...Interesting. I'm not sure where to go on this one, but I'll continue to put thought into it. I may end up pursuing a thrown weapon idea, with a secondary focus in Athletics for mobility and utility,or something. What a shame. I'll figure something out, though.

Do you think the Hinterlander prestige class will fit into this campaign?

Jesper Roland Sørensen wrote:

Its a fine looking prestige class im okay with everything in it.

I will try to somepoint this weekend try and look at the spheres stuff, work has been trying, I would make a back up plan though just in case. :)

Cool then I think I'll end on a cleric/hinterlander, the warpriest is cool but I think I'll end up missing something since it only gets cleric spells up untill 6th.

Sorry to be a pain, but I'm probably not going to go with sniper anymore, anyhoo. Apparently during the recent revamp the document underwent, the Sniping sphere had a pretty significant change made to the Deadly Shot ability. I swear, I made a post about it, but I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Instead of such a character, I'd like to put forth an Alchemy-sphere based Scholar, with a sub-focus in the Warleader sphere, focused around buffing and healing allies, as well as debuffing enemies with alchemical items.

This profile was for a kingmaker game, but I can revamp him over to your campaign if selected.

Was trying for a Mystic Theurge in that game, and will be trying for it in this game.

This is my overall idea. Archetype and statarray may change if I get picked to fit well into the group. I intend to pick up the Hinterlander around 6-7 and go that one for at least 5 levels. I might pick the high wisdom set and use the feat that allows me to use wisdom to hit with a longbow and start my play as a mostly buffer cleric.

Full disclosure, the party has me. I'm a bloodrager/skald that just brought his +8 str/con rage sharing online. He's one of the gladiators mentioned above. :)

And I'm the other. Shield champion brawler.

Very nice, always good to have a few scary close combat characters in the mix. Generally when I'm doing an arcanist once we hit medium levels gets around pesky spell resistance by just buffing the physical magic dealers, spells like haste and telekinetic charge to help people get to the right place and be a bit of a force multiplier. Those and defensive buffs.

If the final group has a few spellcasters in it I may pick up the spell tinkerer exploit to extend buffs.

I've played in games with Shield Champions and Blood Ragers for a bit but never a Skald.

I have one big fat trick with a few minor side abilities. That one trick though...

As I level I'll buff more, but mainly I enable even the weakest of weaklings to hit like a truck. I could even make a kobold respectable. :)
