Half-Drow in Space?

General Discussion

Half-elves already get their note and I like what we have for them, but I am left with a question. How are half-drow different in starfinder?

Traditionally they are one in the same in stats, or at least similar, but pathfinder does set the precedence that they should differ slightly with options like Drow-Blooded, Drow Heritage, Drow Magic, Drow Training, and Thinblood Resilience. But, at this point in time, they don't exist for this fresh game, or anything of the sort. So, how should half drow be set apart there?

Crunch aside, how do you think Half-Drow fit in the scheme of things in Starfinder's setting? What roles are open to them in their society on Apostae and elsewhere? Do the laws on Castrovel relating to half-elves cover half-drow? So on and so forth..

neat idea - would love to see this

I mean, it's unlikely the Blood Laws of Castrovel would include half-drow, given the vehement objections Sovyrian had over Apostae's inclusion in the Pact. As to the other aspects, I'd just replace Keen Senses and Low-Light Vision with Darkvision. Otherwise, I don't even think any technical change are really necessary tbh, but that's just me.

I mean, likely they wouldn't fare well in drow society, since they didn't before, and drow society appears to have changed very little.

Maybe replace the adaptability with a sizable bonus on poison saves to emulate the thinblood resistance.

Or just port over the appropriate alternate racial traits. Most of the drow related ones can probably be made to work.

Alright. Short of an official answer, heres what I have on the crunch side of things:

Ability Adjustments: +2 to any one ability score
Hit Points: 4

Size and Type: Half-drow are Medium humanoids with both the elf and human subtypes.
Darkvision: Half-drow have darkvision with a range of 60ft.
Drow Magic: (As what drow have.)
Elven Blood: (We can just call it Drow Blood if we like, or elven immunities.. or drow immunities, but it makes no difference.)
Keen Senses: (As what every elf has.).
Light Blindness: (As what drow have)

Another thing to roll in, as it just occured to me. Not of drow who are half-human, but something else: Void Hags. What would changings of Void Hag and Drow decent be like? What might their role and purpose be in drow society? Given that the two races do interact as much as they do, I'd be surprised to learn that no such Changeling would exist. Not that changeling stats exist for starfinder (yet), let alone alone stats for "Void-born" changelings.

I'd be inclined to say the results are basically Fiendish Drow. I know Hags aren't technically outsiders, but they trend in that direction.

What would you do if you saw half a drow floating in space? That is you see half its body, one arm, one leg, half a torso and half a head just floating in space, obviously this drow is dead, but what exactly killed him is something of a mystery. Whatever it was, doesn't like to finish its meals!
