The Cat People of Vesk-6

So, we know that Vesk Prime is the homeland of the Vesk. Vesk-3 is the homeworld of Skittermander. And Vesk-8 is some sort of frozen wasteland. But what was most intriguing was Vesk-6, which is supposedly inhabited by cat-people. I'm wondering if there's any more information on this species? Do they not have spaceflight? Have they been so thoroughly conquered by the Vesk that they're near extinct? What/who are they?

Until we get further details I headcanon that they’re the Amurrun (colloquially known as catfolk) of Pathfinder and in their distant past some of them emigrated to Golarion via magic portals, much like elves and ratfolk.

Liberty's Edge

Maybe they're the catfolk in Starfarer's Companion.

They are monsters who must be destroyed entire.

I’m sure that Paizo will do their own awesome alien race when the time comes to detail it.

But in the meantime.... ;-)

Whatever the folks of Paizo are coming up with for the Pact Worlds book suggests that they could use the same format for a later book about the Veskarium -- a solar system about which we have a maddening number of hints but very little solid information so far.

I suspect that after a pact world book, a veskarium book will follow in a year or two.

I have trauma from cat people

Ooooo, does than mean we also get a "Shirren-arium" eventually?

i suspect there'll be an 'AGAINST THE SWARM' AP at some point which will detail the chitinous menace.

In the interim our effort should focus on rooting out and exteriminating the cat people of Vesk-6.

Agreed. Afterwards hopefully more info on the Azlanti Empire comes to light because, while hints have been made, almost nothing concrete enough to make a "canon" homebrew around exists.

According to the Starfinder Core Rulebook, people in the Pact Worlds know next to nothing about the Azlanti Star Empire.

But from what I saw in Alien Archive, they will learn a heck of a lot about the Azlanti from their first combat with Aeon Guards, even if the latter fight to the death so that they cannot be taken prisoner.

Given how little information we've gotten on the Veskarium despite it being a homeworld for one of the core races leads me to believe that the second AP will be set there. Pact Worlds comes out in March, which is only 5 months from the release of the second AP. If the book after Pact Worlds is a Tech book like I'm guessing (from blasters to starships) then it would only be a few months off from the start of AP 2. Just a guess, but thats when I expect all that info to drop

There are other options obviously and I don’t know Paizo’s plans, but based on the world lore I’ve seen so far a Vesk book would have the most to offer gamers. A different race on each planet, its close so there would be more back and forth, they are part of Pact Worlds’ politics and recent history.

But who knows, maybe instead they’ll do a book that addresses several nearby systems.

I think it's kinda fun how we know a little bit about 7 out of 8 of the Veskarium planets, with only Vesk-4 remaining a complete mystery.

Yo dude, what's with this centuries-old barbarism? We enlightened ysoki welcome our catfolk siblings with open arms, willing to put the ecological struggles of past generations behind us to share in the bounty of unified, and more cultured galaxy.

Because let's be real...both of us need to unite to rise up and take out the hypothetical dog-people of the Vast that might strike from the darkness between the stars at any moment!

"The Cat People of Vesk-6" sounds like the most awesome 1950s pulp story ever written. :D

they must be exterminated. do not stay thy hand.

Subao's kin is assaulted by lizardfolk? Ironic, because Subao is known as Bane of lizardfolk and killed dozens in Mwangi. RIP AND TEAR!

Also, Isoki are cute.
