santa claus paladin

Advice

Sooo... My 16th level druid just rolled a nat 1 on his Fort save against disintegrade. 40d6 in my face.
I've came up with a concept for a fat, human paladin wielding a lance called "The North Pole" with a red-nosed megaloceros (giant elk) mount. So basically, Santa.
I do plan on multi classing into cavalier, problem is I don't know how many levels to take, which feats to give Rudolph (my mount) and so on.
Help?

PD

You could always go VARIANT MULTICLASS instead?

Going Paladin and taking VMC Cavalier (Order of the Star) makes you pretty much the hardest thing in the game to kill. You'll be extremely feat-starved though, so it's up to you how worth it this is.

Scarab Sages

You'll be the guy with the Type IV Bag of Holding, obviously...!

Why do you feel the need to multiclass into Cavalier at all? Paladins can get Mounts (magical ones, no less) all on their own.

Because I want this build running (pun definitely intended) from level 1. Paladins get mounts at level 5.

Ever read the Dresden Files? One of the later books has a bad @$$ Santa with a great-sword. He's a fairy of the winter court and goes by Kringle. He has a cool line that goes something like "we are not what we once were. A long life is rife with unexpected turns and windings."

It's a fun bit of flavor if you are looking for some inspiration while making your character.

Scarab Sages

Be sure to choose the Unsanctioned Knowledge feat - that way you can learn (among other things) gaseous form and sneak down chimneys!

You might consider going 4 levels of cavalier and grabbing the horse lord feat.

Sovereign Court

Funny enough during the days of WotC Sean K. Reynolds, wrote down Santa as a druid 13/Cleric 5/Rogue 2. It was a free pdf you could download for the holidays.

Scarab Sages

AND as a Druid (or Cleric with the Animal Domain), you could still get your reindeer!

holy crap that's amazing. And with no paladin levels I can make him a shady CG @$$ that sneaks down people's chimneys and throws presents all over the kids.

Why are you beginning play as a first level character? If your druid was seventh level, wouldn’t your paladin be as well?

He also happens to be Odin.

Technically, they all happen to be aspects sharing one body. As Kringle, he is beholden to Mab, as Vadderung, not so much.

Yeah. Great powers in the Dresdenverse operate by some weird rules.

As we noticed when Harry tried to give Uriel a nickname...
