What do you guys think of this marching order? Farrokh's staying up top with the horses, as we know.
Leading is Samir as he's pretty stealthy and a good tracker, then Bjoern (brawn), Paten (as healer in the middle of party in case he needs to help anyone of us) and Tairin (and Sabra) in back?
Dain GM, how long until Talar reaches us at the ruins?

Ariarh Kane |

I played it out some with Paten. We'll get marching order sorted out soon.
As to posting rate, I can post today and tomorrow. However, I'll be off the boards on my Sunday (Easter day) and my Monday (Easter Monday/public holiday in Oz). (Those days are your Saturday and Sunday). I'll be back to posting on my Tuesday (your Monday).

Patenemheb Sitayet |

These posts hadn't even appeared for me when I posted in gameplay previously. The perils of threads!

Yasala |

After having received a PM, it seems that I will be joining you folks at some point in the future. Looking forward to the fun, and Happy Easter!

Patenemheb Sitayet |

Welcome on board, Yasala!
And Happy Easter all!

Yasala |

Well I was hoping for a more epic appearance but it seems I'm too far away to charge into melee and the bow really isn't my forte, so I guess you all get to meet me with a probable miss XD

Yasala |

I did not bother rolling any opposing checks as she's not trying to hide anything, but I'm not sure how well you would be able to place her accent or her people. I took an educated guess based on your character on how well you would place the accent, but your Kn(local) roll I just left alone as I'm unsure what you would learn from it.

Yasala |

BTW I'm out of town for work this weekend so I'll be on the boards very rarely starting this afternoon and back Sunday night. (EST timezone)

Tairin of the Veils |

Here's to a good work weekend away for you, Yasala.
Just a courtesy heads-up: It's the Orthodox Easter tomorrow (yep, Easter #2 for me) and I'll be busy with the greater family. I won't be able to post until my late evening. Thanks!

Quick Note: So when we were looking for new players one of the things I was hoping for was the ability for people to come together and work well as a team.
To help facilitate this I made sure that our new player had started injured to encourage you guys to be able to aid her with medical treatment, but I deliberately withheld information from your team which I gave to her.
This was not to cause confusion; rather, it was to create a somewhat subtle mystery which could be elaborated upon when you spoke to her and began to put the clues together via sharing data, using knowledge checks and - most importantly - speaking/Social RPing as a team.
So, for example, one of the points I mentioned in the post to her was the term "Padishah of Khazistan". With no formal instruction on who that is "In-Game" I figured that people would at least try to figure out who that may be, what powers that person has and what skills/resources that person has because that could be very important for what you're about to do.
At this point I saw almost no follow-up RP with Yasala in question about those details, except for Tairin who did attempt to discover more about the variables with some basic checks.
However, the questions/information that was shared by with Yasala via PM seemed to be ignored. The follow-up questions about the nature of this mission; the how/why of it and if it is even something which can be trusted - even when the questions were posed/asked by some players, the responses I read seemed to suggest that people weren't interested in responding or they weren't reading the details very carefully.
I will add that my posts tend to be fairly long and somewhat lengthy compared to many other PbP games I've seen when a GM typically tosses up a two or three sentence comment every other day, but by now you may have guessed that's just my writing style and, hopefully, you like/enjoy that writing style if you're still around.
The thing is; it does take quite a bit of time to write all that out; provide names that will be important later in-game for clues; or write characters that act/behave mysteriously who turn out to be surprising later in strange ways.
Anyway; I guess what I'm saying is that you guys have a lot of data and you're not really working with each other to figure out what's going on.
I'm going to be out of town for the next day or so for personal business and probably won't have access to the internet.
In that time I'm asking you could please read all the information in the previous posts again and start putting up some Social RP between all of you.
Yassala is part of the group now, so you should be able to trust her "In-game" (despite the fact that this trust may not yet be earned by your character yet formally). But the details are meant to be tricky for a reason; it's part of the mystery/quest.
Yassala gave information; Tairin questioned the information and asked for follow-up information. Paten concurred about caution regarding Tairin's hunches on Yassala's data and how it conflicted with yours - but so far no one has a plan of action on how to proceed formally with these details.
Anyway, I'm hoping by the time I get back I see some results regarding how you as a team wish to proceed with all these clues as it will be challenging if you're not properly prepared.
I'm looking forward to reading all of that when I get back. Meanwhile, thanks, and have a great weekend!
Bjeorn: Get better soon!

Yasala |

Roger. I've been trying to play Yasala completely in character at this point. As she is used to either working alone or building a team herself, she's been rather non-assertive while she tries to figure out the dynamics of this new group she doesn't know but I can make her a little more open to chatting if that'll help move it forward.
I'll also go back to that PM and see if there's any additional info or details that I might not have passed on and figure out how to get it put out in game. I'm pretty sure I hit it all but you never know.
I've got a busy work day today but I'll start posting in about 10 hours or so and can be pretty active all weekend if we need to hammer some stuff out.
I did see mention of a Discord channel at one point. Any way I could get a link? I'm more accessible via discord during work hours if we ever need ooc conversation.
Bjeorn - Get some good rest this weekend and I hope you feel better.

Patenemheb Sitayet |

I think Yasala has brought up the matter neatly. And one way to build trust with a group to provide sage and pertinent advice, which is she is starting to do.
Dain, in response to your post, those are reasonable points. I think for my part I didn't give myself enough time to digest the available information and its implications.

Talar Drealev |

I try to tread lightly on the complicated political maneuverings since Talar understands those issues poorly (and indeed doesn't have the patience for them), especially since Patenemheb and Tairin really use those departments for their characters to shine.

Yasala |

Yasala is more of an information gatherer and bluff type than a politician. I'm sure she'll be of much use in cities and new places but nothing much she can do here, so it's on our diplomats and knowledge people at this point :)

Talar Drealev |

Yasala, don't forget that the caster level of rangers is equal to their level minus three, so unless you have something special going on your CL is only 2 and your alarm spell wouldn't last that long.

Yasala |

I did forget that. It's 4 hours not 10 hours. Still should be plenty of time for our little visit here. Thank you for the reminder

Dain GM |

Hey guys - Paizo's been annoying so sorry for the delay.
That said; I'm working on a hand-drawn map of the situation as it will be more complicated than my narrative can provide. It is taking me a bit longer than I hoped (the book has no maps for the game, unfortunately).
Anyway, sorry for the delay but it should be up sometime today :)

Patenemheb Sitayet |

Yeah, Paizo has been a nuisance today.
And we'll look forward to it. :)

@Those with good stealth:
I found this: A Guide to Proper Scouting (Rescued from Brilliant Gameologists). It was written for 3.x games, but a lot of the advice is still pertinent.

Patenemheb Sitayet |

Well, at least Patenemheb has trap sense...

Stealth is good - but there are many strange things in the dark...
;)

@All: My free time is going to be quite limited over Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I might be able to post later on over the three days, but I can't guarantee that I'll be able to.

Tairin of the Veils |

I'll be able to post again tomorrow. However, it's the Queen's Birthday long weekend here in Oz this coming weekend, so I won't be around much on my Sat, Sun and Mon (family time!). If I do find a little time over the weekend, I'll try to post, but they'll be sporadic at best. Thanks! :)

Just a heads up...I'm about to head out for a vacation. I'm leaving on Wednesday and coming back on the 22nd. Both of those days I'll be offline, but most of the days between I should be able to get onto the forums about once a day. I'll still be posting just wanted to let you know in case I miss a day or two.
