Extra Bombs or Infusion discovery

Advice

I just turned level 7, I'm not going to get the improved familiar.

I'm trying to choose b/w extra bombs OR infusion.

I could give our barbarian or paladin my shield extract, bulls strength extract and extract haste.

Or I can save those extracts for myself and get extra bombs.

Perhaps I'm being too selfish in thinking of getting extra bombs?

Infusion Would serve you better at the current moment.

Later you can give those Frontliners Giant Form and other Polymorph effects. I also know for a fact Giving them Shield or Displacement extracts and springloaded wrist sheaths work wonders.

Extra Bombs is a Feat and Infusion is a Discovery so one does not cut out the other. Unless if by Extra Bombs you mean more types of bombs.. Or Extra Bombs or Extra Discovery - Infusion..

Silver Crusade

If you're a bomber who keeps running out of bombs, choose Extra Bombs. Especially if you plan on taking the Fast Bombs discovery at level 8.

Otherwise choose Extra Discovery: Infusion, it gives you and your team great utility. (I've assumed that is the choice you're looking at. As Merellin says one is a feat and the other a discovery).

Silver Crusade

It would help to know your party composition (are there other people handing out buffs?)

Infusion is likely to be your best choice. In addition to the suggestions above, Barkskin, Heroism and Alchemical Allocation are good infusions to hand out.

I know I get feats at level 7 but I can take a discovery by taking the feat 'extra discovery'.

Team is composed of a frontline of a barbarian and paladin. Backline is a witch and myself the alchemist.

I've got a level 12 potion of barkskin already. I wasn't aware that I could give an ally an alchemical allocation extract and THEN a potion. Sounds very strong. (+5 AC Barkskin)

I just turned level 7 so I could give front liners haste or fly. I believe I'm going to be a team player and go infusion.

Every time it's in my mouth... I add a little bit of flavor to it!

It's more spit than potion now...lol

I went with infusion and what I found was that I could increase my barbarian and paladin frontliners AC by 50% and damage by 50%.

My front liners have around 20 AC. I can give them 2 extracts each of shield (+4 AC) and an alchemical allocation --> 12th level barkskin potion (+5 AC). As well as 1 haste each which gives that extra 1 round of dmg (going from 2 to 3 attacks giving 50% more dmg) and +1 AC. Giving them around 30 AC at level 7.

Not even comparable to getting 2 extra bombs. Seems like the alchemist is one of the best buffers in the game. Wizard can do this just as well but if he spends all these slots on buffing allies he wont have much spell slots left for any other spells. Whereas I still have my very powerful bomb dmg and status effects.

I truly enjoyed the bomber alchemist myself when I played one. A Bomber does not need many extracts themselves so passing out buffs is a very good thing for them to do.

Glad you enjoyed the Decision. No one likes disappointment in character choices.
