Can you Full Attack with an unwieldy weapon?

The Full Attack action (p248) seems to say yes - although you'll only get one attack ("...even with a full attack.")

However, the Unwieldy listing (p182) explicitly says no.

If you think you can't, do you see any problem with allowing it as a houserule?

You can't. It is how the game balances the extra damage of unwieldy weapons.

To be clear, I mean do you see any problem allowing someone to full attack with an unwieldy weapon but (as per the implication of the full attack action text) only granting them one attack?

I realise you can't get two attacks.

What kind of trickery are you trying to get up to? I'm curious :)

Nothing - I'm the DM. :)

I just like allowing options. It's unlikely to ever be chosen, but it occurred to me that someone with an unwieldy weapon might want to fight defensively and I'm not much of a theory guy when it comes to RPGs - I wondered whether there was some reason I shouldn't let that be an option.

Funny that a regular analog doshko is unwieldy, but not the flame and plasma versions...

Is the metal blade THAT heavy that you can't swing it this fast :P ?

Ever tried swinging a halberd vs. swinging a staff?

Oh Oh I have. It is different! Although I suppose if you were strong enough you wouldn't notice it as much, but strength has never worked that way in the history of D20 so yeah.

I get the idea that a regular doshko is heavier, I just didn't realize it was THAT heavier.

In fact, all analog doshkos are unwieldy, which is... rather weird. For a traditional weapon of a race of warrior reptiles, shouldn't have they developped a lighter version that sacrifice damage for better control?

Hey, it's not like we can't have 2 versions of the same weapon with different qualities.

It is important for those with multiple arms. Being able to attack with two different heavy weapons in a Full Attack would be appealing.

The better question is whether or not you can use cleave.

I hadn't thought of that.

I think it's weird that things that would seem to emblematic of CLEAVING, like huge, two-handed axes, are unwieldy and cannot be used to Cleave.

Speaking as a guy playing a Vesk, I'm also kind of annoyed that the unwieldy Doshko can't be used as PART of a full attack (such as, say, hitting one dude with the Doshko and the other dude with my tail). I'll just have to soldier on.

I'd be keen to allow things like that too.
