Action to Activate Kineticist's Air's Leap

Rules Questions

A discussion came up at my table on whether activating air's leap takes a standard action or not. It does state that kineticists' powers "take a standard action to use unless otherwise noted". However, I've always treated it as being part of other actions based on the wording of the description of the power as there does not seem to be any actual action being taken. Both jumping and accepting burns are part of actions, rather than actions in themselves. Just want to make sure I've been using it correctly.

Air's Leap:
You are always considered to have a running start when jumping. You add your kineticist level as a bonus on all Acrobatics checks to jump, you jump twice as far or high as the results of your check indicate, and you can accept 1 point of burn when jumping to double the distance you jump again (to a total of four times as far).

It does not seem to list a duration, and it adresses jumps, plural. Assuming it needs to be "turned on" leads to more questions.

If they insist it takes a standard to activate, just do so. Then note that it has no definitive duration so you never need to do so again.

"Always" basically is an activation time. At the worst, you can say that you activate it once as a standard action and then it lasts forever.

The other is a "when" activation time, which means it's part of another action unless specified otherwise.
