Taking your hand off/on a weapon as a swift each way is going to drive people buggy.
I wave to my friend, now I have to chose whether to move or attack.
If i am the GM I would not make a player do that. I believe the intent of the rule is if a player wants to do something different with a hand, like pull out a serum or use a move action to activate a door panel, then they can do a swift action to free up the hand.
To wave at your friend to go to the other side of the door, for example, is not a significant action in my mind.

@Brissan: While it isn't explicit, the draw action is described as "Drawing a weapon so that you can use it in combat (...)" which implies to me that once the action is done you can use the weapon without spending an extra action to change grips. You might find stickler DMs interpreting it differently though :<
Now that I think about it, the change grips as a swift action rule is kinda irritating.
Say I have a 2-handed weapon. If I want to use a Serum of Healing, I have to: take a hand off the weapon SWIFT, retrieve the serum MOVE, use the Serum STANDARD, and now I can't put my hand back on my weapon... ie. I'm not considered to be wielding it at all until my next turn when I spend another swift to put my hand back on it (which disqualifies me from making a full attack :<)
