Lantern bearers vs Drow paladin

So completely hypothetical situation i find myself thinking of.

Doesn't matter how but you have a surface dwelling Drow paladin. paladins being what they are pretty much radiate good.

Lantern bearers are sworn to eliminate drow, required to be good and everything.

i get a kick out of just imagining the all around confusion.

i do find myself curious as to what would actually happen though.

Since the current incarnation of the Lantern Bearers specifically tries to redeem Drow I don't see the issue.

Yeah it's literally the lantern bearers quest to reform of they can, and even have spells to allow warning to those that may cross the line that they are going off the trail.

If anything they may have the Drow making PSA videos for students at high schools in marvel movies before they would hurt him.

Adventurer's Guide also explicitly states that there is a notable Drow member following a strange Reincarnate.

I don't think you were mislead, the Lantern Bearers had some changes in the recent books.

Yeah, it depends on when you have them meet. Before Second Darkness they'd probably try to kill the drow paladin, but after SD ends they have a collective "Crap, what have we done?!" moment and start seeking stow redemption, at which point they'd probably try to recruit such a drow!
