Was looking at the Monk of the empty hand, and looking to see if there was any archetype thta worked with it and so far the only one I think I see is oddly the Weapon Adept.
Now the Weapon Adept gets Perfect strike, and the MotEH treats all 2h weapons as equivalent of quarterstaffs, which makes me wonder if it would work there?

If it's PFS then it has to be one of the following. Doesn't matter if something is treated like a quarterstaff. Only the following literal weapons.
You must use one of the following weapons to make the attack: kama, nunchaku, quarterstaff, sai, and siangham.
If it's not PFS, then you need to ask your GM.
Weapon adept seems to be intended for one specific weapon, I don't think 'A monk of the empty hand treats normal weapons as improvised weapons with the following equivalencies' would be quite the same.
Underfoot adept though might be able to use the ability to add any magical ability to a weapon as a swift action. Dueling, driving, quaking and maybe other properties could be useful. Training (one more feat in some trip chain) might also be handy.

I would look into possibly dipping into swashbuckler or Slayer for the Kick Up feat, so you could literally just kick up a chair leg, bone, broken bottle, anything before you go into a flurry.
Slayer may be easier as a dip, though a Swashbuckler/MoEH-Scaled Fist could be entertaining.
Funny! I was digging through stackable archetypes yesterday myself. Pretty sure Karmic Monk works. And it's actually fairly decent as stunning fist prolly sucks for a Monk of the empty Hand.
There's a few more archetypes such as the Iron Mountain (prolly good), the one that grants elemental fist (prolly no good) and the one that gives you the pacifist Stunning fist replacement.
