Bolt Ace - Free Crossbow

I see that the Gunslinger Archetype Bolt Ace receives a free masterwork crossbow of their choice. Would a Repeating Hand Crossbow be an option? Is it any available crossbow, or did they intend it to be only Light or Heavy Crossbows?

My Bolt Ace chose a Launching Crossbow =).

If this is for PFS, the Campaign Clarifications document restricts it from being made of any Special Materials.

Is there any way to build a viable Two Weapon Fighting Repeating Hand Crossbow user for PFS play?

Its a free action to reload them as long as they have bolts remaining, but are there ways to do that while holding two.

As far as I know, a repeating hand crossbow isn't a thing that exists.

Yes, it does exist.

For PFS, you could take a two level dip into Alchemist for a Vestigial Arm (or two!) that you could use for reloading.

If you can score a Tiefling Boon, and your Tiefling has the Prehensile Tail alternate racial trait, you can pick up the Grasping Tail feat and use your tail to hold your crossbow while you reload it.

For 10,000gp you could also pick up a Glove of Storing.

Personally, I think the underwater light crossbow is where it's at. Grab rapid reload and enjoy shooting things anywhere anytime.
