Silver Crusade

So I've noticed that the two contraceptive items only work on humanoids according to the rules. Is there an option for native outsiders? I tend to play mostly tieflings and aasimars. And most characters I play are sexually active.

Don't think so, but then again I'd file potential unwanted pregnancy for PCs as a non issue anf that you're well within your rights as a player to throw a handful of d4s at the GM if he does that to you.

After all, nothing says adventure quite like being incapacitated for a bunch of months and then dragging around some mewling baby...

I also don't have an answer for you, Mystic_Snowfang (other than your basic mundane contraceptives) but I certainly don't agree with Tarik Blackhands' opinion.

I feel that if you have a player making thoughtful, considerate (whether for others or their own personal, selfish reasons), and deliberate steps to prevent or protect themselves, a GM who just utterly disregards the actions (or is being threatened with attacks) is actually the wrong method. Getting pregnant from having sex is a possible outcome of the action. Getting drunk from drinking is an outcome. Having to wake up in the morning with a hangover, even one with penalties, does not put one within rights to hurl dice across the table (Naturally, the assumption was that hurling dice at someone was meant tongue-in-cheek and not an actual call for forming a mob.) One should instead be thankful that the GM actually considers them mature enough to understand their actions have consequences and that they're a mature enough player to handle them, even if they are inconvenienced.

Now, if you were going through these steps and your GM just saddled you with a kid regardless of all reasonable steps... that would be unfair.

I suppose, thinking about it some more... just because those contraceptives you mentioned don't work on you, there's no reason you couldn't give them to your partner (assuming they're humanoid, obviously). Would seem to have the seem desired result.

Silver Crusade

Bit of background, my Fiance is the GM and I really don't mind my character knocking up his female love interest. She is currently taking Night Tea. I was just asking him the chance of it and about what my character could do to protect himself, just in case.
Seems RAW there is nothing.

also this is in a Skulls and Shackles game, and my character is fast on his way to becoming captain. So of any Adventure path, this seems the best to possible have a kid.

I talked with him about it and the female he is currently sleeping with would be quite happy if she became pregnant.

Of course, my character doesn't have know planes and primarily sleeps with other males. So he might not even know that such things don't work on him.

Scarab Sages

If it's Organized Play (which it doesn't sound like), Tarik Blackhands is almost certainly right.

Otherwise, there's little reason some Alchemist or Conjurer couldn't invent some alternative contraceptive formula.

I mean, to block out the Humanoid part, snuff/tea should be enough, and to block out the Outsider part, all you probably need is a little Elder Sign tattooed on your genitals or whatever....

There's always racial options like Scion of Humanity. That should let the contraceptives work.

Condoms are also a realistic option.

i think iv seen in one of the more sex-orianted themed booklets (not sure if it was paizo's or 3rd party) but outsiders can decide if they are fertile or not. so that solve a lot of problems
