CotCT Witch traits

Advice

I have two pick one campaign trait and one normal trait for an invoker witch, could you give me your best suggestions please? greatly appreciated!

Magical Lineage- If your gonna use meta magics.

Transmuter- I personally love this trait. +1 CL to all Transmutation spells. 1/day extend 2nd level buff spell. (I tend to pick Cat's Grace)

Reactionary- Cause going first wins.

+1 Fortitutde Trait- Worst save and helps shore up your glaring weaknesses.

how do you feel about Seeker since Witches don't get perception as a class skill?

I can only have one regular trait, tough to decide between magical lineage/reactionary/seeker, perception is just so important.

Perception is important but can be bought via Headband of Vast Int

I'm going to say Bruising Intellect or Pragmatic Activator so you can get Int instead of Cha for Intimidate or UMD; since they are already a class skills.

your right, I like Transmuter too, do you ever use Fox's Cunning with it? +4 to INT can help out my DC's as an invoker. The thing is Fox's Cunning isn't on a witch's spell list, can she still get this spell through this trait?

I like pragmatic activator a lot, but I guess a wand keyring would do the job eventually.

Just as a note, Transmuter is actually Transmuter of Korada in case your GM is strict about that.

Threefold Aspect is very good early on for a Witch, saves a chunk of money on +4 Int and +4 Wis.

wow just looked into threefold Aspect, how would that work with Transmuter of Korada? Or would it have no effect?

Nothing is based on Caster Level so it would do nothing. However if you extended it with Extend Spell it would last 48 Hours instead of 24, so you could always have it up the day before which is nice (and arguably turns it into a permanent bonus and qualifies you for the Skill Points, Languages, etc).

Actually, a Wand Key Ring works just for one specific spell.

I was considering Magical Lineage (Ill Omen) what are your thoughts? Is it really worth it if I have the Misfortune Hex with Accursed Hex also?

Quickened Ill Omen is monstrous.

ML: Ill Omen is not a great choice. There is only a handful of Meta Magic that would work on it. Quicken and Echoing. You can make a quickened Ill omen as a 4th level spell but you will not receive the benefit until 7th level. By then you can just have your Familiar with a wand of it.

If you have misfortune with Accursed Hex then it is not as worth it. I use ill Omen instead of Misfortune myself. Not all players play alike tho. So if you're for sure going Misfortune then just use Ill Omen till you have your Hex+Feat combo going.

I don't really plan on getting an improved familiar because I will lose my +4 to Dex. Currently I only have a +6 to Dex if I take magical lineage. If I got an improved familar I'd have a weak initiative. Is it worth it to take Ill Omen knowing that?

the way i see it I'd be getting more value out of reactionary or pragmatic activator, If I took magical lineage I would be able to use quickened spell Ill Omen at level 7 , and if I didn't take magical lineage I would just have to wait till level 9. I don't know if its a big deal waiting two extra levels to get it.

I cannot find the thread about your character's race, so I am posting here. Maybe you're already set or your GM wouldn't let you play an uncommon race, but Wayang seems to me very interesting. FCB is just awesome and abilities fit.

Ya hes allowing us to play any race basically, not some super reclusive race though, as long as its reasonable. Hes a great GM.

I do plan on using metamagic feats, which spell would you select for Magical Lineage on a debuff witch?
