Barbarian and Stalwart Defender DR stacking

Rules Questions

So I'm thinking of making an interesting mix of these two classes because I wanted to try making a super tanky and protective character who functions as a support melee rather than a primary damage dealer.

After reading through both classes I arrived at a frustrating blockage: I can't determine whether the DR of both these classes stack.

Obviously I would rather they did, but leave your opinion and support on whether you would say yay or nay to this. Thanks to all in advance!

Damage reduction from different sources does not stack; however, a stalwart defender of 5th or higher level that gains DR from armor (but not from any other source) increases his class-based DR by the value of the armor’s DR. Thus a 7th-level stalwart defender wearing adamantine full plate (DR 3/—) has DR 6/—.

Your DR between the two do not stack. Only the best individual source applies.

you would be better off with invulnerable rager

Also look at the Stalwart and Improved Stalwart feats. By RAW these should stack with the Stalwart Defender DR, since it's granted by their class.

For a pure DR build, however, Invulnerable Rager is definitely king.

actually unchained barb does really well at the DR thing, at lv19 it has DR 11 while raging, Invulnerable rager caps out at DR 10 at lv20. So it actually can have more DR starting at lv9 when it can have DR 5, and DR 8 at lv10 with no retraining. So it spikes and then will stay ahead from then on.

They fixed that typo, Dragon Totem doesn't increase DR.

Dragon Totem Resilience: Dragon totem resilience says that I get energy resistance equal to twice my barbarian DR, but then it says “This DR increases by 2 for each dragon totem rage power she possesses”. From the context, it seems like it meant that the energy resistance increases. Which one is right?

It should say that the energy resistance increases by 2 for each dragon totem rage power. This will be reflected in the next errata

oh i thought it was you gain a resist double of their dr and then they gained 2dr/- per dragon totem power well that's just disappointing
