Advice on spell Insect Spies

Advice

I came across this neat little seldom used spell. Could somebody assist me in finding a way to gain vision for the spell Insect Spies. What I mean is, can I somehow cast another spell on Insect Spies which will allow me to see what the insect sees, that would be a great scouting tool in dungeons etc. At the moment I am only allowed to ask the insects what they saw, I would much rather be able to see through there eyes and therefore map out whole dungeons before having to endanger myself and my party. I do see the Greater version of the spell allows for what I am asking, but is there a way to do it through another spell.

there's a 6-7th level grater version that allows you to switch perceptions to one of the beetles as a move action.

You could scry on the beetles, but that raises the question of why you aren't scrying the dungeon directly with something like Arcane Eye.

I should mention I'm a druid, sorry.

What does it mean in this spell when it says the insects obey my mental commands? Do I not need to be able to speak via wild speech or anything to these insects? Is it all telepathic?

Can anyone help me here?

As far as I can tell, using Druid spells, No. There is no way to get vision on the Insect Spies before Greater Insect Spies as a 6th level spell.

There's a 4th level spell that lets you get vision/hearing on your Animal Companion or Familiar. It's from one of the small player companion books (Spymaster's Handbook), called Watchful Animal.

And my reading is that yes, all the communication with the insect spies is telepathic.

Thanks a lot
