Another cowardly attack, this time targeting kids and young adults in the U.K. I wanted to speak out against these despicable attacks and extend all that I can to those impacted by these senseless actions. To the extent possible in a message board, I wanted to let y'all know that I stand with you!

Scottish and UK governments are acting swiftly. Not known (yet) if a group has claimed responsibility. Campaigning has been suspended.
Further updates as they become available.

Its horrendous... I've got loads of Manc mates and they said the whole thing is just surreal. I'm only amazed somethig like this hasn't happened sooner.... but then in the UK we were so used to fighting the IRA, our anti-terror intel set up is pretty amazing.

I don't know what to say. I want to offer comfort to everyone affected by this bombing, but posting on an internet message board seems insufficient at best and patronizing at worst.

Remember the fallen if you know them. Aid the injured as best you can. Live life your way in defiance of those who wish otherwise (so long as it's legal).
I will keep all the victims and families in my prayers.
This is horrible.

There are no words for how much I despise this act of cowardice, there is no reason for such blatant inhumanity, and there is no forgiveness left in me for acts such as this against the innocent.
My deepest sympathies go out to the victims and their families.
This is not how the world is supposed to be.

EDIT: Looks like the community of Manchester is coming together to support the victims. As bad as the actions of one individual are, the response of the community (and the rest of the world) restores some faith in humanity.

@ Fergie- Removed all indication of blame, pardon, I spoke in both haste and anger, I should know better than to assume. I apologize.

Removed a handful of posts. This kind of hyperbole is counter to what the original intention of this thread appears to be, and political commentary is likely best put in another thread.

Thanks Chris. Yes, the intent of this thread is to focus on the victims and their family/friends. There are political implications but they should be in a different thread.
Im always amazed to see communities come together after a tragedy. Still in my thoughts and prayers.

There's a picture going round of a group of people running from the latest attack. One man is carrying his pint of beer with him.

It takes more than a few nutters to upset life for long over here. We're a tough bunch, with a long history of surviving this sort of thing, and it just makes us pull together.
Pretty much everybody will have sympathy for the families of the victims, but we won't fall into a mindless fear of the terrorists, and life will go on.

Well said Andy Brown!
Looking at these kinds of incidents and knowing the history of 'The Blitz' during WWII shows the futility of trying to terrorize the Brits into submission.
