There's some very long threads about this issue and a lot of back-and-forth about whether mounts count as allies, whether being mounted counts as being adjacent, etc., etc. Some people see using the feat this way as perfectly sensible, others as incredibly cheesy. In the end, I doubt you'll find a mass-approved answer to your question unless there's a FAQ someday.

While I can understand a generic "I bought this horse at a horse dealer" mount not counting as an ally an animal companion most certainly counts as one. They get buffed from party buffs like haste and inspire confidence. Also the feat cares about adjacent or within your space and while you're mounted they are always within your space are they not? A medium creature on a large mount threatens 5' out from the L mount they ride right? So they are centered on and fully include the mount for within your space.

It's something that ends up being interpreted different ways - I don't enforce it while playing PFS, but in home games I treat them as one, based on the Mounted Fury from Ultimate Intrigue including text that I find clarifying:
A mounted fury’s bond with his mount is strong, with the pair learning to anticipate each other’s moods and moves. At 3rd level, the mounted fury’s mount shares all his teamwork feats, without needing to meet the prerequisites (although while mounted, the mounted fury and his mount do not count as separate creatures for the purpose of these feats).
