If I have enough pre-reqs I can get weapon focus on an Elven weapon with Ancestral Weapon Mastery. Can I then use that as a pre-req for weapon focus? What happen when I choose a different Weapon Focus with AWM?
Feat text below:
Ancestral Weapon Mastery
Benefit(s): You’re proficient with all of your race’s racial weapons (the weapons mentioned in your race’s weapon familiarity racial trait). If you’re already proficient with any of those weapons, you instead gain Weapon Focus for one of those weapons as a bonus feat. Furthermore, if you gain Weapon Focus as a bonus feat with one of your racial weapons as a result of this feat, you can change which racial weapon your bonus Weapon Focus feat applies to by engaging in 10 minutes of practice with the new weapon.
The benefits of this bonus Weapon Focus feat last until you choose to practice and apply it to a different racial weapon.
Greater Weapon Focus:
Choose one type of weapon (including unarmed strike or grapple) for which you have already selected Weapon Focus. You are a master at your chosen weapon.
Prerequisites: Proficiency with selected weapon, Weapon Focus with selected weapon, base attack bonus +1, 8th-level fighter.
Benefit: You gain a +1 bonus on attack rolls you make using the selected weapon. This bonus stacks with other bonuses on attack rolls, including those from Weapon Focus.
Special: You can gain Greater Weapon Focus multiple times. Its effects do not stack. Each time you take the feat, it applies to a new type of weapon.

If you lose a prerequisite a feat stop working until you regain it.
It doesn't say what types I'm limited to except that it must have Weapon Focus so I'll set it to "the one that has Weapon Focus from Ancestral Weapon Mastery". It'll always have the pre-req, it's just the meaning of the pre-req will change.

Greater weapon focus requires you to choose a specific weapon, so you have "greater weapon focus: longsword". You cannot just go "greater weapon focus:this weapon I chose today".
While Ancestral Weapon Mastery allows you to change your weapon focus bonus feat, it does not allow you to change any other feats - such as greater weapon focus.

Weapon focus actually does say “Choose one type of weapon”. Greater weapon focus says “Choose one type of weapon for which you have already selected weapon focus”. Neither of these feats allows you to change the type of weapon. Ancestral weapon master allows you to sometimes gain weapon focus with a single type of weapon but also allows you to change that. The weapon I choose today is not a valid type of weapon so cannot be chosen by either feat. Ancestral weapon mastery allows you to change the type of weapon that weapon focus applies to but you still must choose a weapon type.

Weapon Focus (Combat)
Choose one type of weapon. You can also choose unarmed strike or grapple (or ray, if you are a spellcaster) as your weapon for the purposes of this feat.
Prerequisites: Proficiency with selected weapon, base attack bonus +1.
Benefit: You gain a +1 bonus on all attack rolls you make using the selected weapon.
Special: You can gain this feat multiple times. Its effects do not stack. Each time you take the feat, it applies to a new type of weapon.
If you are going strictly by RAW notice the benefit of the feat specifics that you get the bonus to the selected weapon. The definition of a weapon is in the weapon tables. Since weapon I am using is not listed in the table it cannot be used with these feats.
Also the reason they used the word type is because without it could be read that it applies only to a specific weapon. By specific weapon I mean a particular long sword, not all long swords. That would mean if you pick up another long sword the feat does not apply. Considering how often an adventure upgrades or replaces weapons this would basically render the feats useless. In this case type is actually being used to expand what the feat can apply to. Under this interpretation weapon focus would apply only to the weapon you were using when you pick up the feat. If the weapon is broken or lost you lose the feat. Obviously this is not the way the feat works, but that is why the used the word type.

As others have said, feats like Greater Weapon Focus that require you to select a specific type of weapon can't be transferred to other weapon types despite having Ancestral Weapon Mastery. However, there are feats that require Weapon Focus but don't themselves require the selection of a specific weapon. These will be usable even if you switch your Weapon Focus.
(1) Weapon Versatility will let you deal P, S, or B damage with those weapons.
(2) Stage Combatant will let you deal non-lethal damage (or no damage). (Great if it is a melee weapon and you have Enforcer.)
(3) Dazzling Display and many of its subsequent feats (Shatter Defenses, Gory Finish, Disheartening Display, and Violent Display) will work with whichever one you select for Weapon Focus.
Note: The use of a Bladed Belt, Transformative Weapon, or Greater Transformative Weapon can keep costs down while switching between weapon types.

From another thread, I know that you are making a Half-elf, so here are a few more things to consider.
(1) Ancestral Weapon Mastery is nice if you decide to take the Elven Battle Style feat line (Elven Battle Style, Elven Battle Focus, and Elven Battle Torrent).
(2) There are a couple of magic items that specifically boost Elven ancestral weapons.
- An Ancestral Clasp will get you a +1 Insight Bonus on attack rolls.
- High Elven Bracers will get you a +1 Competence Bonus on attack and damage rolls.

You need to set it to "Elven Curved Blade" not "some English language sentence".
